After high school graduation, Derek attended the DC Police Academy, became a member of the Special Operations Division and spent the following 5 years serving the public. Returning to college to study education, he then spent the following 8 years in the DC Public schools as an educational therapist. Dereks professional sales career in retail automotive began in 1992, his area of expert ease focused on luxury import and Japanese vehicles. He joined Mercedes Benz of Annapolis Dec 08 and consistently ranks in the top 10% of the sales force team. He has achieved his Mercedes Benz Star Certification and is currently enrolled in the Master certification program Derek is considered the resident “health nut” of Mercedes Benz of Annapolis. His healthy lifestyle includes a vegetarian diet, plenty of exercise, especially cycling, and (sometimes unsolicited) advise to his colleagues, (“You're not really going to eat that are you??!”). He has been married to his lovely wife for 20+ years.

He took me on as his customer, which I was impressed and appreciative of based on how I looked walking into the dealership. Mr. Nedd was very informative and worked with me through the purchasing process, providing insight into the various vehicle options and recommendations based on his experience. The finance guy Mr. Larry Cash was equally as helpful as I had a set budget in mind, and he went above and beyond to get me where I wanted to be with purchasing a new 2022 S-Class. Overall, a great team of professionals to work with who are extremely helpful, and highly recommend this dealership based on my experiences. More

My experience at Mercedes Benz of Annapolis was fantastic from the moment I walked in the door. Julian greeted us and listened to what we were interested in accomplishing for the day. Derek Nedd has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in Life Period. I have owned over 3 Mercedes and was looking to purchase a another. When he greeted me, it was odd because he instantly b experienced in Life Period. I have owned over 3 Mercedes and was looking to purchase a another. When he greeted me, it was odd because he instantly began to talk condescending like I was wasting him. What do you want, we don’t test drives, and it sad because as an African American you would think he would treat a fellow African American with more respect. Not the case. I researched multiple Mercedes and told him I looked at GLS and GL cars and that they discontinued GL models in 2016. He talked to me down to me like no GL classes ended in 2013. I knew that was not the case. He tried to belittle us and basically gave the conversation like we couldn’t afford to buy a car. Long story short I ended up buying a 2019 GLS 63 from a BMW dealership because Mercedes salesman Derek Nedd bragged about sales awards and doesn’t have good customer service. His prejudice cost him the sale. And I have had poor customer service before but he was the worst in life. More
