Wouldn't get my car serviced here at all! - barrhavenguy

Bought my new car in the summer of 2013. In september we bought winter tires and rims from them and had them switched. We had the dealer store our other tires and rims for us over the winter. When spring time came around we had the tires switched back only to notice that 3 of the 4 alloy rims that were in pristine condition when dropped off and only 2 months used were all scratehed up. You could easily tell that the scratches came from the way the stacked the tires and threw them on top of each other. Through much arguing the dealer gave us the contact for a rim repair shop in stittsville and told us they they would pay $50 a rim towards the repair. Once at the rim shop they provided it was going to cost $200 a rim to repair. $600 and Surgeoner would only give $150 for the damge they caused. Second and last time we went there for service was shortly after we went for an oil change we went to top up the wiper fluid and noticed that the hood wouldn't open as the corner by the windshield was bent down. Back to the dealer again and they denied any wrongdoing and said that is was likely from someone sitting on the corner of the car. If that was the case the hood would have been out of alignment the other way an would have bent up. At the next scheduled service we went to another dealer and just for curiosity's sake we asked that dealer what could have caused the damage. Right away he said it was likely that a tool was left at the base of the windshield and the hood was then opened causing the damage. We asked if someone sitting on the front of the car could have cause the damage and he said definitely not. We went straight to GM at this point and had them speak to the secondary dealer at which point Surgeoner agreed to pay half of the $1500 repair but only if completed at their shop. I would not recommend them at all.

This dealership... like most, is there to bend you over and squeeze all your money from you, and then leave you by the wayside. I was sold a brand new silverado in 2019. great truck, ideally, to start up my business. My intention in buying new instead of used was the assurance that the quality of the performance and pieces was ensured and that service actually served a purpose. I haven't once been into service for a repair, but I have been in for countless recalls, exceptionally failed oil changes (my oil pan and filter are still damaged and leaking from whatever they did under there), a good dose of patronizing from the service staff reminding me "you have to drive the vehicle so the rotors dont rust" after slapping me a bill for $800.00, when I had just dropped it off for said failed oil change. Well, I should be fair, they did change the oil, and then it emptied itself all over my dirveway and had to be brought in an emergency to the nearest garage to avoid the engine siezing. The garage owner was dumbfounded at the dealership's method for handling this. Meanwhile, I had expressed my concerns to the dealership and they suggested "just keep topping it up". And offered me an appointment some weeks out. It made a great antithesis to the patronizing comments I received at the service desk where this problem was actually born: "drive it more often, you dont drive it enough" and now their advice had changed to "top up the oil, keep topping it up and dont drive the truck". That's quite a confounding set of instructions. Moreover, from the beginning, the radio has been buggy, randomly shutting off while I'm driving, going black etc. A simple search online showed me that this mode of radio was known for these defects. What did the service professionals tell me when I expressed my concerns the first year? "The radio must be too cold". Then, the next year, it was "probably too warm" and they reset the system. This year, I actually had to email all the managers simultaneously to have this looked at and as it turns out there is a radio module piece known to be defective and is easily replaced, and would have been in stock and not on backorder had they taken the time to know their own products. Three years I waited for this radio to simply function, but now...! Last year's oil pan defect-failed-oil-change event has recurred and now my business truck of less than 3 years and less than 30,000km is pissing oil like gutter trash and has an unusable electronics system. So if I can't use the engine, I can't use the electronics what is this but a heap of metal and wasted effort? Service will either deflect me or schedule me some time in 2050 when ny warranty has been dead for many years. In any case, everything you heard about car dealerships and service departments are the true. Once you've signed that document and the money is in their account, you're less than an apparition. Expect to be critically ignored while your warranty expires, be shafted to this or that service appointment to no avail, have all your pieces on backorder until they arrive but another defect in the vehicle makes it impossible to arrive to the appointment, so the piece is sent back to the warehouse, then goes on backorder... Expect to speak to defense wall secretaries, who are always happy to "schedule an appointment", never hear from a manager to the degree of actually resolving a problem, and exceptional, fast and immediate care from multiple team members if you mention you want to buy some tires. It's a tremendous black hole, where money goes and disappears. In fact, this dealership and their associates are a lot like their vehicles: After the first year, the paint wears off the bottom, and while it may look put together on the outside, rust is eating at the frame, like it was designed to decay.

The door latch on my Trax wasnt connecting properly, leaving the door loose and making it difficult to lock the doors. I just stopped into Taylors, expecting to have to make an appointment for service, but Jim took a look, and within 5 minutes, had the situation fixed with no charge, and me back on the road, feeling a LOT more secure! Went in for warranty work and came out with more problems - Badservice

I went in to get the radiator and water pump replaced on my 2015 gmc truck. Had no issues with that part but at the same time they took it upon themselves to check out my cabin filter and that’s where the problem started I didn’t authorized this work to be done and had nothing to do with the work being done. When I went to pick my truck up my stereo was no longer working on these new truck it is controlled by the HMI witch is located just above the cabin filter they claimed they had nothing to do with my stereo no longer working and claimed they also never went in the area of the cabin filter but I received a phone call from one of the service people say that it was dirty and full a debris. They did take a look at it after I had made them aware it wasn’t working and since then things have only gotten worse now I can’t see what gear my truck is or any of the other functions on that part of my gauge cluster and still have no stereo at all. The service manager told me it was up to me to pay for a new HMI to fix the problem they have cause. At the same time he would also get upset with me over the whole situation when all I want is for my truck to be repaired back to the way it was before I dropped it off for the warranty work that was done. Not at all happy with the service that I got or the way I was treated the truck is still under warranty for another 6 months and they want me to pay for the 800 part to fix what they have broke. Before this whole thing started I was considering buying a vehicle from Timmins garage this year now I will go else where I will not give them another dollar very disappointed in the all around service.

My wife went in for service on her 2016 GMC and left with a2021... excellent people to deal with no pressure even the owner came out to talk to her. First purchase from them but I feel comfortable in recommending them to friends and family. Our salesman Richard was friendly and accommodating. All the staff is very friendly and professional. Service was so quick and efficient that they were done before my wife got back from her test drive. The deal was completed before end of day no need to go back the next day. My wife gives them 5 thumbs up.

Worst dealership ever. Bought a 2020 Traverse brand new. Before it even left the lot brought to the attention that something was wrong with the trunk was told no it was the new design. Got halfway home and major squeaking coming from the back called the dealership from the car. They told me to bring it back the next day. Sure enough the inside of the trunk door popped off! They had to order a whole trim kit! While waiting for the trim kit a whole 5 months! We took it for its first oil change before Christmas before going to the cottage. After the oil change when backing up the back brakes squealed, was told they must have hit a brake pad. They would fix it when the trim kit came in. They fixed the door and brakes in Feb, and on the way home I stopped to pick up groceries and put them in the trunk and couldn’t shut the trunk! They broke the door! I finally was able to slam it shut with some help. I took it to the local dealership and they said it was completely off! They also looked at the brakes at the next oil change and said not only was I miss informed they did not hit a brake pad it was a recall but it was done properly and I was driving an unsafe vehicle! I called to speak to the Wallace service manager and he told me I was lying and there was no proof I even bought the traverse from them! I said I have the bill of sale! He told me to go fu** myself and hung up! I called GM as to this day my traverse is still not 100% and I have been told I am banned from the dealership! I am furious and want an explanation as to why a dealership that wrecked my car and a manager that is rude to me, bans me? Will never give this dealership money again and am seeking a lawyers opinion!
