Sold me a lemon and now getting the run around - Smith
I bought a 2019 Explorer in December and in January a knocking noise started in the front end. We have been back and forth numerous times since without it being fixed. They re- torqued all the bolts in the front end and not fixed. They replaced the steering gear and not fixed. They replaced the complete sub frame and not fixed. Now I am here sitting in the showroom after they replaced the left and right lower control arms and it still isn’t fixed.
A big problem with this is that each time the service department tells us it is fixed, we drive it and the noise is still there. I am questioning if they are even properly road testing it. This can be confirmed by a previous experience with Cabot on the truck that I traded for this explorer. My brakes were done here at Cabot, they told us it was done, and when my wife picked it up there was a crunching noise from the back tires. They let her leave the lot with the e-brake hanging up.
Here it is now April (over 4 months later) and I am still getting the run around from these guys … enough is enough. Next step is a lawyer I guess
Horrible, horrible service... stay away!!!!!! - FGriffin
on December 6th 2017, I had my truck in for regular maintenance. There was a number of issues they addressed. one of those was brakes. whn I left the dealership it was clear to me that something was wrong with the truck. I could smell something burning and my fuel consumption jumped from around 15L per 100km to over 18 in just a couple of days. I had owned the truck for 4 years at that point, so I know something wasent right. I took it back on December 15 for them to look at it again. I was called and told the truck was find. I did not accept that, and asked them to check the brakes as it could be the issue. again, they said nothing was wrong and tat my increase fuel consumption was a result of winter driving. they must think I am an idoit.
fast forward to April 20th. I cannot go on any further driving the truck with the smell of buring, the noise coming from the wheel and increased fuel consumption. when it was checked, surprise, surprise, the caliper is seized. at this point the dealership tried to charge me for the brakes, which are normally covered under warranty, because the caliper caused the damage. well, the damage would not have been there if they had done their job in December when I asked them too.
next, both of these appointment required me to leave my truck at the dealership over the weekend because it was late I the day before the work was started. I dropped the truck off the day before, so I shouldn't have to wait that long to get service. when I asked why my truck was put off, I was told that customers who wait for their truck come fist. this is xxxxxxxx!! what is the point of making an appointment if you are not going to perform the work?
I have request that the service manager call me twice, but still no call. I guess it is not the service managers job to deal with service issues. I am very disappointed with the service.

Lied to my wife - Brad12345
Brought my wife's car to the service centre in Marystown cause it would not start. Made an appointment for 3 weeks after but left the car at the dealer incase they had an opening. 3 weeks passed and so did the appointment and never heard anything. So another week passed and my wife decided to call and check on her car. The service guy lied to her and told her the car was in the garage that day and moved back outside because something came up. I went to the dealer to check on the car and it was not moved from where I left it. We decided to leave it for another week, but still nothing. The car wasn't moved from where I put it. I had the car towed to a dealer in St. John's, which is 3 hours away. They put it in the garage immediately and in 4 hours had the problem solved. 2 weeks later I got a call from the Marystown dealer saying that we owe them for a bill. The service is absolutely non existent and they wanted to charge us for nothing.

So very disgusted in the Jim Penney Ford Dealership in... - karengfw
So very disgusted in the Jim Penney Ford Dealership in Grand Falls-Windsor. Had a new rear axel installed in my van. The Tech had damaged the breakline and caused a leak. He tried covering it up by saying the brake wheel cylinder was bad, which caused the brake line to leak. The service advisor accused me of bringing my van in with the leaking break line. I told him to be a man and come out in my driveway to see if there is any leaks in on the pavement. I was not impressed that the Tech lied to try and cover his own ass while the service advisor accused me of something I didn't do. I had my van into Jim Penney Ford for a safety recall in which they gave my van back in a unsafe condition with hardly any brakes. I took my van and left there a very unhappy customer!! I barely made it home on the little brakes I had. I had my own mechanic lok at the van and after inspection the brake wheel cylinder was not gone and there was no brake fluid on the brake drum, which means the leak was only there a short period of time. I brought my van in at 2pm on Monday and picked it up around 1:30pm on a Thursday. If that brake line was leaking when I dropped it off, my brake drum would have been soaked in brake fluid. My mechanic also seen effidence that the Tech at the Ford dealership had damged the brake line while removing the old rear axel and replacing it with a new one. Right from the start I got poor customer service from those in the service dept. First they weren't going to give me a vehicle when on the back of the recall letter it stated that as long as my van was in for repairs that Ford would supply me with a rental or loaner. I was told when I booked an appointment that a Ford Focus would be available to me. When I got there they told me I had to pick up a rental and had to pay the rental company $100 up front!! Like hell I was when that was not on the recall letter!! I am so digusted with the service I received there that I will never return there ever again to get any recall work done on my van. They let me take my van in an unsafe condition and tried to cover up the brake line leak was due to the removal and installion of the rear axel. They are a bunch of liars!! I will never recomment anyone to go to the Ford Dealership in GFW. They should not be doing repairs on vehicles if they are letting customers taking them from their parking lot in an unsafe condition. I did not sign anything stating I am agreeing to take my van in the condition they had left it in. They just gave me my keys and a copy of the recall work that was performed on my van. I have never seen anything like what I have went through last week at Jim Penney Ford in Grand Falls-Windsor. I asked to speak to Mr. Jim Penney but he was in Florida. He never spends anytime at his dealerships to deal with customers complaints!! He should not be allowed to run a dealership if he can not be present there at times when customers need to speak to him. Awful service and I will never go back there again and my next choice of vehicles will never be a FORD!!!
