We see that you have read our private response to your review (shown below), but have yet to hear back from you regarding this matter. Unfortunately, preforming warranty work on a US vehicle in Canada can be a bit of a complicated process and we sympathize with your frustration. If we can be of any assistance to you in the future, we would appreciate the opportunity better serve you. Respectfully, Stacey Shortt Business Development Winnipeg Kia said on 01/28/2015 04:39 PM Hello Eric, I have received your message on dealer rater, and would like to apologize for the poor level of service you had received from our service department. Unfortunately I was unware of your situation until I received a message on our website on January 15th 2015, regarding the repairs required on your sportage. I spoke to you that same day to get info to attempt to get these repairs covered either by Kia Canada or thru your extended warranty. We then called your extended warranty carrier however the policy that is in place on your vehicle does not cover replacement of the catalytic converter unfortunately, we then reviewed the request sent into to Kia Canada for coverage but where once again denied because your Sportage originated in the USA and does not have coverage in Canada. I then called you back that same day to explain that we could not get coverage thru either extended warranty or Kia Canada, however because your vehicle still has coverage under USA warranty the option to get the repairs completed in the USA free of charge was available. At that point you did mention that a trip to the USA was not an option so I was going to looking into ways to reduce the cost of the repair either with a used or aftermarket part. I do realize I have yet to call back with alternative options and would once again like to apologize for that however during our conversations I did not realize your urgency to have these repairs completed and thought I had time to check every option to reduce the cost for yourself. For the last week our parts department has been preparing for a parts inventory count which has taken me away from many of my service manager duties but had my assistant parts manager searching salvage yards and aftermarket suppliers but has been unsuccessful to this point. I notice in your message that you may no longer own this vehicle, however if I am incorrect and you are still in possession of this vehicle I would like to discuss a reduced rate to help lower the cost of the repairs.
