Hello Nicole, we're sorry that your experience with us was upsetting. But we hope that you understand that the salesperson was not engaging in deceptive tactics of any kind - he was telling you the truth. This Kia Forte truly was sold on June 27 and delivered to a retail customer on June 30th. Please understand that the reason we raise the price on sold cars online is to respect our potential customers' time. We know that customers get frustrated calling on cars that are already sold. Furthermore, we can't delete them online until the car is actually in the possession of the new owner. The truth is, some deals just don't go through due to financing approval issues, etc, and the dealer has to wait and see the deal through fully. This delicate time period in between shaking hands with our good customer and them taking full delivery of the car is commonly only handled in 2 different ways by dealers: 1) Do nothing as the selling dealer, keep the price aggressive online, and potentially waste other people's time (and your own salespeople) when people continue to call on a sold unit, or 2) Raise the price in the interim, trying to minimize people calling on a sold car that hasn't been delivered yet. I suppose that you have have pointed out the risk here - customers not believing the car was actually sold, but we have to recognize that really aggressive pricing will quickly have a car sold by any dealer, not just us. For example, at $11,500, we had the least expensive Kia Forte of eighteen 2014 Forte's on Auto Trader at that time, so we knew it would sell very quickly. Obviously, we feel that the most professional approach is the second one. Please also understand that the price generally gets changed on Auto Trader first by the dealer, but then there can be lag time updating places like CarPages, Kijiji, etc. We've seen delays of up to 48 hours or longer for a changed Auto Trader Ad to fully filter out onto the internet. Having said that, we did check the other websites Trader updates and they had all updated to the higher $13,900 price we had placed on this Kia Forte within 24 hours of us updating it. In the end, we hope you believe us that we truly are using strategies to save our customers' time, not waste it. We feel badly that you felt otherwise. Kind Regards, Whitby Oshawa Honda
