I recently encountered a highly disappointing experience with Honda Whitby that I feel compelled to share. As someone new to Canada and having just started my career, this incident has left me particularly with Honda Whitby that I feel compelled to share. I initially made a deal to lease a car, but due to unforeseen insurance complications, I promptly reached out via phone and email to cancel the deal before its approval. Regrettably, my efforts to communicate were met with silence. When I visited the dealership in person, they did agree to cancel the deal but refused to refund my $1,000 deposit. Given my situation, losing this amount was significant. I proposed holding the deposit for a future purchase, to which the salesperson, Zeenat, agreed. However, when I later requested the refund to purchase a car from another Honda dealership, my request was flatly denied. They stated that the $1,000 was now their money, despite previous assurances. Accepting this initial loss, I sought advice from my family and returned to the dealership to recover the deposit. We requested to speak with Iftikhar (Iffy), but were repeatedly told he was unavailable and advised to keep returning in hopes of catching him. This felt unprofessional, especially considering my family has purchased four cars from this dealership over the past five years. During our visit, we were asked to leave and threatened with police action if we did not comply. The sales manager, Tony Ghowsi, even pretended to call the police to intimidate us. Ultimately, Trevor Carew escorted us out, grabbing our shoulders, merely for requesting a refund. This entire experience has been extremely disheartening and unprofessional, reflecting a severe lack of respect and care for loyal customers. I hope others can learn from my experience and exercise caution when dealing with Honda Whitby. More

In writing this review just for anyone wanting to buy a vehicle from this company. My son bought a car from them after lying to the bank about money down and the price of the car just to get him financed o vehicle from this company. My son bought a car from them after lying to the bank about money down and the price of the car just to get him financed or the sales agent red lining every gear on the test with my son and 2 friends in the back should of been the only red flags he needed but being 18 for only 3 months he still unaware of how deceiving people can be. He picked the car up on July 12 and drove it off the lot without anyone going over his paper work or even giving the winter tires he had in the agreement he made in 5 minutes down the road before the car would not go into gear. He then called the dealership and was told people were busy so instead of saying “hey do you have roadside” they asked him to get it back to the dealership so he spent 170$ to get a tow there. When he got back there they treated him like complete trash and told him they would look at it Monday after a complementary diagnostic. Well they called Saturday and advised my son they had a tech come in and it was the clutch and they were going to replace it at no cost to him because they said they could not verify it was the previous owner, Them or my son. He was amazed at that until the Tuesday when they called and said there was a text sent about if he breaks it it’s his fault ( referring to it not being mommy and days issue)the day of the pick up and because of it that can’t cover it it would be 2200$ plus tax to diagnose and another 4000$ to put the clutch in all this for having the car for 5 minutes. Being a protective father I called to see what was going on and when I mentioned head office I was then threatening them and even being laughed at by management we were told they would talk to “the powers to be” (whatever that means) and get a call back that call never came. This whole thing has went from people lying saying he was driving with the e-brake on (which I don’t know how that’s possible) to not shifting properly to a miss shift and he didn’t know how to drive stick (which he did) but at end of day placing blame on my son thinking he would break his first big purchase on purpose If you have to deal with Honda Canada they will call this dealership with no response (I’m told they have contacted them who’s lying head office or the dealer I’ll leave that for you to decide) we have asked for the diagnostics from when they took in on trade and after my son drove it but they didn’t do one go figure so my son sits and wait cause we are told very rudely it’s in head offices hands now all because of a text that ment nothing. I have purposely left out names because they can sit around and joke about taking advantage of an freshly turned 18 on what was supposed to be one of the best days he’s had This is the kind of service that seems to be standered here More

Bought a used 2018 Honda HRV in March of 2023. It had about 79000 kms on it. I have now put about 25000 kms on it driving to and from work, highway miles. Two weeks ago the transmission went in it It had about 79000 kms on it. I have now put about 25000 kms on it driving to and from work, highway miles. Two weeks ago the transmission went in it., Did some research and found out there is an issue with these belt transmissions. Honda also sent a recall out to do a software update on these transmissions and they have to be flushed every 50000. I took it to Cobourg Honda and they notified me that none of this was done and Whitby Honda should have did this before they sold me the car. Luckily, Honda covered the cost of the transmission. While I had it in they found that the air conditioner compressor had to be replaced, which did cost me $3000. I called Whitby Honda Manager and let him know about my dissatisfaction of them not telling me about the transmission problems. Managers response was, “You and your family enjoyed it for a year and now your complaining because things are breaking down?” Based on this logic these vehicles from this dealership are only suppose to last a year without any issues. Terrible experience with this dealership, who won’t be seeing any more business from me and my family. More
