Whitby Oshawa Honda overcharged my brother by saying that the car had been thoroughly checked by the shop mechanics and was in pristine condition, which was why the price was high. They only sell pristine-co the car had been thoroughly checked by the shop mechanics and was in pristine condition, which was why the price was high. They only sell pristine-condition cars to their customers; otherwise, they sell them at auction. But in reality, they sold him a lemon with a faulty, failing transmission and a failing AC compressor. After visiting many local car dealerships, my brother finally decided to buy from Whitby Oshawa Honda (the biggest mistake of his life) because it's a freaking Honda dealership... what could go wrong? It turns out that Whitby Oshawa Honda is the most deceptive sellers in the used-car market, and they use the "Honda" badge to do this. First of all, the salesperson, Mr. Suhail, verbally agreed to one price and sneakily changed the price on the sales document. Since everything happened so quickly, my brother didn't catch the higher price when signing the deal papers because, again, he wasn't expecting to get tricked by a Honda dealership. When he pointed this out to Suhail, he literally used the F-word many times and said it was my brother's mistake that he hadn't pointed it out when he signed the papers. My brother wanted to back out of the deal, but Suhail said the deposit wouldn't be refunded. So he had to proceed with the purchase, and he ended up buying the car. On the day of pickup, there was a scratch on the windshield that hadn't been there before, and there was no spare tire. Come on, who sells a pristine-condition car without a spare? A few days after buying the car, my brother started noticing that the transmission wasn't shifting properly. It felt like it was slipping, and the car was losing power when the AC was turned on. He took the car to a mechanic, who told him that the car had a failing transmission, a failing AC compressor, and leaking components. He said that the only way to address the transmission and AC compressor problems was to replace them when they completely fail, and that the transmission alone would cost $7,000 to $10,000 to replace. The mechanic who diagnosed my brother's car confirmed that there was no way these issues had just developed overnight. The car should have been experiencing these issues for a long time, and there was no way the mechanics at Honda had missed them. "Looks like they saw him as easy prey and took advantage of him." My brother immediately contacted Whitby Oshawa Honda. They said it isn't their problem anymore, the deal is already done, and they dont care anymore. He should deal with it himself.(This happened within two weeks of buying the car.) Later, my brother took the car to an Acura dealership, where they confirmed that the transmission was shifting stiffly and that the transmission fluid was low. They also told him that he would need a new transmission when it completely fails. Mr. Suhail also told my brother that the car had been freshly traded in by a customer. However, after some investigation, my brother found out that Whitby Oshawa Honda had purchased this car six months earlier from a wholesale dealer in Montreal. My brother's mistake was trusting this dealership blindly and paying an extremely high premium for a lemon car with a failing transmission and AC compressor. He should have just gone with Clutch.ca. Now my brother is stuck with a car that has a failing transmission and a failing AC compressor, and his mailbox and phone are being flooded with junk mails and calls from SiriusXM. Apparently, according to the salesperson, Suhail, signing up for SiriusXM was mandatory as part of the deal, even though my brother declined it many times. He forcefully made my brother sign up for this SiriusXM crap. My advice to people considering buying from Whitby Oshawa Honda is: Don't go there. If you go, be ready to get scammed, lose your money and sleep More
1/5 Stars: Unacceptable Service and Zero Accountability. If i could not add a star i would have selected none. I am extremely disappointed with the service department at Whitby Oshawa Accountability. If i could not add a star i would have selected none. I am extremely disappointed with the service department at Whitby Oshawa Honda. Over the last two months, I have had to bring my 2017 Honda Ridgeline in four separate times for major, expensive repairs—including a torque converter replacement, an oil change, and replacing both front and rear lower control arms. Despite spending thousands on non-warranty work, and warranty work their attention to detail and customer care is non-existent: • Neglected Multi-Point Inspections: They never checked my brakes or provided value-added services. Even after performing wheel alignments, they couldn't be bothered to inflate my tires to the proper pressure. • Outrageous Repair Quotes: I have a loose catalytic converter. Even though there are zero diagnostic codes, they tried to charge me to replace the entire system, or alternatively, charge $900 just to tighten it with clamps. Furthermore, a missing heat shield was completely ignored and never ordered or addressed. • New Issues & No Accountability: I picked up my truck yesterday after the torque converter repair. upon driving it, the front end started making a new noise, and it got worse. I couldnt hear at first because the windshield cowl was loose. I brought it back the next day as it was so embarrassing to drive with suck a loud noise. Instead of ensuring their previous work was done correctly, they did a rushed visual check, test dove for a few minutes and told me I would have to pay an additional diagnostic fee just to find out what they messed up. Because they think its the brakes. Think. Driving away with a new problem after four visits is bad enough, but trying to nickel-and-dime a customer for a diagnostic fee to check your own recent work is predatory. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere for competent mechanics who take pride in their work and respect their customers. I called honda canada and on two separate issues they attached both complaints to one file. Even though they where a month apart. I asked to speak to managers but was declined stating they need to have a manager call me and no eta. Was told honda is individual owned Managers are too busy, no clue when they will be in and then told to call from 8-8 but they dont know when i can speak to a manager. They first declined a manager stating none available. And stated Dealership issues are logged together for the next six months. They will have manager call me at their convenience When i asked to speak to the oshawa service manager JD, he look bothered and amused when i walked in his office, he had a broken door and it swung open hitting something. No hinges on door. Fire safety risk. Very dangerous as the glass in the door could have smashed on me. JD was not impressed and followed with not being helpful and he had this look on his face like - he was amused at my displeasure of the service they provided . I called him on it and he stated thats how i feel and i said my feelings didnt make yoir face do that. Your actions is what i described. his whole demeanour was i am not helping or listening to you. No care in the world. They could have taken the truck and put it up on a hoist but they didnt. I have so many other things to say but this is becoming a book. 2.4 rating on google. I see why. More

The dealership did not w a n t to cover the $amount for repair. They insisted on the car being shipped back to their dealership to b e repaired...a 4.5 hour drive. After 6 weeks of stressful interaction, we conceded to accept less then half the cost to repair at home. We have purchased several vehicles in the last 50 + years and never had this kind of poor customer service. More

Just wanted to share my experience with Joshua at Whitby Oshawa Honda today regarding a red fl5 Type r I came into see. I called and emailed with them many times beforehand to confirm. When I got there w Oshawa Honda today regarding a red fl5 Type r I came into see. I called and emailed with them many times beforehand to confirm. When I got there which took a 40minute drive one way from Markham I was told I was not going to be allowed to take the type r on the road due to the dealer’s policy. I mean fair enough it’s a manual performance car but none of the people who I was in contact with could have told me beforehand and saved me the trip and gas. Today was a complete waste of my time. I think they need to review their procedures to make sure this doesn’t happen again to other potential customers. Also on the offer given fornthe car there was a 70 dollar charge for gas. I mean if I am buying a 60000 dollar car I really don’t expect to be charged 70 dollars for gas. Besides that the trade in offer given for my car was a full $3000 below what I could get with clutch. I mean it’s just insulting. All in all I am very disappointed with Whitby Oshawa Honda and will most likely never return here. Nothing against Joshua his service was good and he was courteous. More
Nowhere in their web information does it say that a certain car is being sold As Is! We drove from Peterborough to see a few candidates. When we gave the Stock Number to the salesman, he said, "Oh, t certain car is being sold As Is! We drove from Peterborough to see a few candidates. When we gave the Stock Number to the salesman, he said, "Oh, the A in the Stock Number means it is As Is, not certified." We came to buy a car we could drive away in. We asked how much it would cost to have a mechanical inspection to provide a report on what the car would need to pass the Safety Inspection and he said they won't do that. We asked how much it would cost to buy it certified. After leaving us to get an answer, he returned and said it would be an additional almost $2500. We asked how they knew what it would cost if the mechanical inspection hadn't been performed. He said that price reflected the car's retail value, not the actual cost to certify it. When he asked how we would be financing the purchase, we said "by cash". He said "Oh, that will cost an extra $1000." My brain heard "we would save $1000" as it is unheard of to pay a higher price for a car when paying cash, with no trade in. I was shocked. We left. Never to return or endorse this business again. My experience at Whitby Honda was undoubtedly the worst dealership and purchasing experience I’ve ever had. As someone on the autism spectrum, I strongly advise anyone with or without a disability to avoid dealership and purchasing experience I’ve ever had. As someone on the autism spectrum, I strongly advise anyone with or without a disability to avoid this place. From pressuring me into warranty products, changing numbers during the deal, poor communication the entire process, delays or refusal in cancelling products I requested be removed before delivery, and taking delivery of a vehicle that wasn’t in the condition promised or anywhere near CPO, the entire process was frustrating from start to finish. No oil change. A7 service required. Mismatch branded tires with sidewall damage. When concerns were raised over tire safety, I was initially told nothing was wrong, only for the tires to be replaced and many of the other issues to be repaired after I escalated my complaint. To make matters worse, my trade-in payoff was not completed correctly, resulting in an overdue balance for months that impacted my credit and forced me to pay out of pocket to prevent further damage while the dealership denied accountability. Very disappointing and expensive experience. Avoid. My family are now going to service all of their vehicles elsewhere. The largest volume used car dealership lot in Canada does not mean it’s the best, and this team will not take care of you. More

Went to buy a car and they brought me to the auxiallary lot without mentioning the car had a severe accident on it, would have not even bothered wasting the 30 minutes to go look at it (salesman was also on the phone half the time). Second visit was for warranty repairs on a car I bought at a different dealer. They used the strategy of throwing parts at the problem and then gave me back the car and the problem was still there...
