Be VERY, VERY CAREFUL when buying certified pre-owned vehicles here. I purchased a used Toyota Tundra Hybrid Capstone with 33,000kms.on it for $96k after taxes here on April 15th with multiple marketplac vehicles here. I purchased a used Toyota Tundra Hybrid Capstone with 33,000kms.on it for $96k after taxes here on April 15th with multiple marketplace ads from different salesmen listing this truck stating in capital letters 'NO ACCIDENTS!!!' When I asked to see the Carfax report there was a $0 collision showing on the report. They assured me over the phone this was a one owner vehicle which they sold to a client that buys a new capstone from them each year and that with regard to the collision it was just the side mirror glass that popped out of the mirror housing so the owner had called ICBC thinking there was damage. They very clearly and specifically stated the glass only had to be snapped back into place - NO ACTUAL DAMAGE. This was reiterated in person when I drove down from Kelowna to view the truck. The deal was made and two days later in Kelowna I started to notice some things that were not right so I took it to a friend who is a red seal autobody man. By crawling underneath and taking a look, within a few minutes we noted the following: Mis-matched left and right bumper caps on the rear bumper (I'd noticed this at home and this is what started the suspicion), a 2' long run in the paint or clear coat on the right rear quarter panel which you cannot see very well or at all in direct sunlight, white overspray on weatherstripping Inbetween the box and cab, broken mounting clips on the underside of rear bumper cover, wheel damage, both backup lights cracked and UNTREATED / EXPOSED WELDS FROM THE REPLACEMENT OF THE RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL just left to rust!!! I took it to an actual bodyahop as well and the estimator verified within minutes that significant work had been done on this truck. $15,000 minimum in repairs but likely closer to $20k. This was a Toyota Certified pre-owned, touting a 160 point inspection, top quality vehicle and they would barely budge on price - this is what they're selling their customers. Just look at the photos! I paid cash and found out quickly that Toyota Canada cannot and will not have your back in this situation either as dealerships are independently owned and it wasn't financed through Toyota. They GM did agree to take the vehicle back but we fought over who would pay for the freight back to Westminster from Kelowna for days and they refused to pay my expenses down which included gas, hotel and meals. Not to mention two days of my life wasted and missed out on a couple other similar trucks I was dealing on in the Vancouver area. The GM had his manager call me to try and shake me down, demanding I stop driving the truck because if they're taking it back its technically theirs now. I snapped and said unless you secretly deposited $96k in my bank account the truck is still mine and offered that if they want me to stop driving it while they arrange transport back, they better arrange a rental and deliver it to me because my life does not stop because of the mess they created and I don't do life without a vehicle. Arrogant, entitled and shameless this group is. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I even had myself convinced that they simply made a mistake and had no malicious intent - lack of due diligence, missing the damage upon their inspection. Literally 10/10 people in the industry have said you'd have to be blind to just 'miss' this amount of damage when taking in a vehicle of that value for inspection/trade. The sales manager said several times over the phone 'we don't have to take this vehicle back' throughout our arguments. Again, 10/10 people with knowledge of the industry said the VSA claim would have been a slam dunk in my favour. If you are shopping for a 2024 Tundra Hybrid Capstone with 34,000kms on it and it's Pearl white, BE VERY CAREFUL!! They'll likely try running with the side mirror glass story again since they have no paper trail or history of the actual damage this truck incurred! More
I had a disappointing experience with New Westminster Toyota, particularly with the manager, Harvinder Tinna. When purchasing a vehicle, I was unexpectedly charged for a leather seat treatment that I did Toyota, particularly with the manager, Harvinder Tinna. When purchasing a vehicle, I was unexpectedly charged for a leather seat treatment that I didn't want. This charge stemmed from a previous customer whose financing had fallen through, but instead of absorbing the cost, Harvinder attempted to pass it onto me. The sales associate, Kalpesh Shah, was excellent and did his best to help remove the fee, but unfortunately, it was the manager's decision that carried the most weight. To make matters worse, Harvinder didn't have the decency to speak with me directly. Instead, they sent a representative, Kenney, who tried to act as if they were giving me a deal, even though I clearly understood that the dealer should absorb the cost. Kenney's handling of the situation only made me more upset, as he was unhelpful and condescending. Even though I could have walked away, I had already placed a deposit back on January 27th, and my vehicle was continually delayed. Despite my flexibility on color preferences, I didn't feel like my order was treated with priority. Overall, Harvinder Tinna’s approach felt self-serving, trying to pass unnecessary costs onto buyers instead of taking responsibility. I will be cautious about recommending this dealership moving forward. More

If 0 was an option that is what i would be leaving. I purchased a 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport from Westminster Toyota. We agreed to a price and when I came into sign the document showed 800 more than the agr I purchased a 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport from Westminster Toyota. We agreed to a price and when I came into sign the document showed 800 more than the agreed upon rate. After I explained that Gary Ho went to his manager and came back with a value that was still 400 more than we agreed upon. Finally came back with a value that was a dollar higher, whatever thats fine. From there we moved onto financing and I had looked into what I was approved for in advance and they hit me with a 12% interest rate. I once again said I know I am approved for much less, they argued thats the best they can do. I insisted to run it through RBC and sure enough it came back at what I expected at 7.5% I insisted that the truck be cleaned up and they fix the wiring to the light bar so all was good for me to drive away. After signing all the papers I hop in the truck and the light bar is not working still. Word for word, “it’s just a decorative piece, we disabled it during inspection” A decorative light bar that doesn’t light up? Then why was it advertised on the listing. I was told I would have to fix that at my own cost. Gary told me he gave it the premium detailing and I drop the tailgate once I get home and see it is covered in plaster. It gets worse, the next day I went to North Shore Off Road to inquire about the light bar and they informed me that these are not the OEM Toyota Shocks, they are Rough Country Shocks the bottom of the barrel. This was advertised as a TRD SPORT PREMIUM package. But what I purchased for 55k is not to Toyota TRD standards. The value of these shocks is worth 1/4 of what the OEM ones would be. All in all it’s clear now they were trying to scam me at every corner. Gary Ho was useless in his car knowledge and ability to help me out through this big purchase. All these issues were addressed to the manager and the only solution was to buy the truck back from me.. Highly recommend you avoid this dealership. Its a shame for I had heard great things about Toyota so assumed going directly though a dealer would be in my best interest. More

Ripped me off on trade in saying they'd have a hard time selling it, gave me $3,000 less than other dealers offered (only went through with it because others didn't have the vehicle I wanted) then listed my selling it, gave me $3,000 less than other dealers offered (only went through with it because others didn't have the vehicle I wanted) then listed my vehicle the next week for $16000 more than what they gave me for it. Should have listened to my gut and walked away from these crooks, . More
I bought a vehicle with a platinum ESP, and dealing with this dealership just validates why I despise doing business with any dealership. The service department is inconsistent with the invoices and I had t this dealership just validates why I despise doing business with any dealership.
