After checking a number of different dealerships on our "list" we stopped at the West Edmonton Hyundai to look at the Santa Fe, a vehicle we were both very interested in. We were greeted by Alan Sugiyama, and spent quite a bit of time with him learning about the Santa Fe, and taking one for a test drive. As we didn't have the vehicle we were trading in with us (we live 500 km. from Edmonton) we decided to purchase the Santa Fe, and put a deposit on the one we wanted. We were given an "estimated" trade in value on our vehicle, and upon our return to the dealership with our trade-in a week later, they honoured the trade-in that they had originally said. Alan spent a lot of time with us going over every aspect of the vehicle before we drove it off the lot, which made us feel very comfortable driving it in the city. It was a very friendly experience, and we have been recommending West Edmonton Hyundai to all of our friends. I would like to add that we have been loyal Toyota owners for the last 35+ years, and I was very apprehensive switching companies, but I am very very happy with our new vehicle. We took our 2009 Accent in this morning for a recall notice and got visiting with Allan Sugiyama. We started looking for a new car several months ago,..not certain what we even wanted. We have been to several dealers since then but have yet to decide on a vehicle. We ended up back at Hyundai yesterday afternoon as overall, we have been most impressed with the Hyundai Sante Fe and wanted to re-test drive. We met a different sales person this time that heightened the experience we had already had. Richard Lam greeted us at the door with a huge hello and an even bigger smile. He listened to what we wanted and was quick to show us what he felt would be the best choice for us. Not only was he friendly but he was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about his product. We learned more things about the Sante Fe safety features, driving features and overall much more about the car than on our first visit. He is very pleasant to deal with and works very hard to earn your business. The only reason we did not purchase that particular day is we are not quite financially ready but we will tell you, that as soon as we are, we will return to West End Hyundai, purchase the Sante Fe and purchase it through Richard Lam.
