They sold me a vehicle for $34,000 assuring me it was fully reconditioned and passed inspection with flying colors. The moment I took it off the lot, it was clear that was completely false. ​Right away, I noticed a TPMS light on the dash, a broken turn signal that was literally filled with water, terrible wiper blades, low brake fluid, low coolant, and oil that was visibly dirty and old. ​Because of all these obvious red flags, I paid to get an independent inspection done. To their credit, the dealership reimbursed the inspection cost and oil change, but the mechanic's report was a nightmare: over $4,000 in major mechanical repairs needed, including a worn-out toe arm (a severe steering issue) and a leaking timing chain case. ​West Edmonton Hyundai fixed the minor things I originally caught, but refused to cover the $4,000 in actual structural and mechanical repairs. ​Now the vehicle is sitting useless in my driveway. I’m a single dad, and my youngest son has Down syndrome along with other health issues. Getting him to his medical appointments isn't optional, but now I’m stuck constantly rescheduling his care or begging people to borrow a car. On top of managing his needs and parenting my two boys with autism when they're with me, I now have to deal with being sold an unsafe vehicle. ​I don’t have an extra $4,000 lying around to fix a car I just bought for $34k under the promise it was fully inspected. They took my money, handed me defective keys, and stopped caring the second the deal was done. Go somewhere that actually stands by what they sell. More

Absolutely deplorable business practices. I work nights and they repeatedly call me and wake me up during the day even though I have asked them not to probably about 20 times. I was assured by a manager that my phone number was removed and that they put my husband's phone number instead. I received a call again for a promotional offer that woke me up. I do not put my phone on do not disturb, in case it is an emergency from my elderly parent who is in hospice. Good to know that the manager has lied to my face repeatedly about removing my number and somehow they can't figure out how to not enrage a customer. How difficult is it to just change the number on file to my husbands, whose name is on the car and who pays for it. I block the numbers and then a new salesman with a new phone number will call about getting a new car. I will absolutely never give Hyundai my business ever again simply for this, I work with hundreds of people and will always tell them to avoid Hyundai. The stress of working 14 hour night shifts and then receiving calls that wake you up when you already lose sleep for a parent with cancer is ridiculous. More

Didn't even clean the vehicle well and soaked me for my trade in. Also didn't tell me all the accidents the recently purchased vehicle had been in. Complained and did absolutely nothing for me - couldn't even give me like a $10 gift card for all the issues I went through - worst customer service ever!!!!!!!! The people I dealt with in management aren't even listed on here lol More

My recent service experience at West Edmonton Hyundai was extremely disappointing. The last oil change on my vehicle was performed at this dealership. Shortly afterward, I brought my vehicle in for an unr extremely disappointing. The last oil change on my vehicle was performed at this dealership. Shortly afterward, I brought my vehicle in for an unrelated coolant concern. During that visit, I was advised that my turbocharger was leaking oil and needed to be replaced at a cost of approximately $3,600. Given the size of that repair, I sought a second opinion from an independent repair facility, Sandy Lane Automotive. Their written inspection found that the turbocharger was not leaking or failing. Instead, they documented that the engine oil level was significantly overfilled (approximately 1.3 litres too much) and that replacing the turbo would not have resolved the issue. The independent shop completed the corrective repair, which involved cleaning oil-contaminated components and replacing a damaged intake tube and seal. The total cost was over $1,100. I provided this documentation to West Edmonton Hyundai and requested reimbursement. My interactions with the Service Manager, Alanna Stokes, were very discouraging. I found her responses dismissive and abrasive, and she was unwilling to meaningfully address the independent findings. I also contacted the General Manager, Robbie Gordash. While he was polite in his communications, it took a long time to receive a response, and ultimately the dealership declined to provide reimbursement unless I returned the vehicle to them for re-inspection. I was later offered store credit for future service, which I declined as I no longer feel comfortable having my vehicle serviced at this dealership. I also requested internal service records and verification related to the oil change (inspection checklist and oil dispensing records). I was told only that their system is programmed to dispense the correct amount of oil, but no documentation was provided. What is most concerning is that I was initially advised to replace a turbocharger that did not need to be replaced. Had I not sought a second opinion, I would have spent thousands of dollars unnecessarily. I am sharing this experience so other customers understand the importance of getting a second opinion and being cautious with major repair recommendations. More
