My name is Steve Dennis and I am the Dealer Principal and Managing Partner of Waverley Chrysler. Our goal is to have completely satisfied customers. I understand that this customer was unhappy to pay for diagnosis which was for a non warrantable item. I am sure that nobody looks forward to an unforeseen repair bill. However, it is unfortunate that this customer did not give us credit for the effort that we put forth to service his vehicle. He acknowledges that he had a road trip coming up and had a concern with his check engine light. He also confirms that his selling dealer could not get his car in the same day. The Waverley service department had the customer bring the car in and diagnosed the issue. We informed him that damaged wiring is not a warrantable condition and that we can not submit for a non warrantable repair. We further explained that the damaged wiring would probably be covered under his auto insurance. At that point, the customer chose to shoot the messenger because he did not want to pay for the diagnosis we had done on his car. I find it unfortunate that the customer or whoever wrote this review would accuse my staff of calling them a "liar". Our staff would never say this to a customer. I also find it disconcerting that we supposedly were unwilling to send a shuttle to pick them up. It was conveyed to us by the customer that he was in a meeting late in the day and was not able to give us an exact pickup time. We informed him that our concern was being able to get him back to the Dealership by closing time, in rush hour traffic, if we did not know his timeline. We apologize if there was a misunderstanding on this point, but we would have sent the shuttle if we knew what time you were available. We shuttle thousands of customers every year and would not exclude anyone. When you spoke to me, the owner, I simply restated the position that the wiring damage on your Avenger was not warrantable. It would be unethical to submit for a warranty claim to Chrysler if we know the repair is not warrantable. Passing on unwarrantable repairs to the factory only raises their costs, which are in turn passed on to the consumers. I had to decline your request to waive the bill, since we had paid our service advisor and technicians to work on the vehicle. I regret that you did not agree with our assessment, and did not appreciate the fact that we took on the work when your regular dealer would not. I truly hope that you will recognize the validity of our position once your repair has been completed.
