Sherwood Park Toyota responded

I offered to meet with them to discuss how I could make amends because our reputation is everything to us. I cannot transport myself to over a year ago to witness the conversation that was had. When we checked the file, the CarProof report was in it. Our store policy is to provide a CarProof report with every vehicle and disclose any claims or repairs the vehicle has had that has been documented in those reports. When offered a resolution the customer had stated that they had purchased a vehicle somewhere else and were not interested in anything I had to offer. The customer bought the vehicle from us and in one year had put 40,000 kilometers on the vehicle. The difference in selling price (one year ago) to the trade in value now was $4000. We feel very strongly that we need to defend ourselves as we work extremely hard to maintain our reputation as a trustworthy dealership that goes the extra mile whenever there are issues, no matter how big or how small. We are still willing to discuss a resolution if the customer wishes to do so. Regards, Aaron Buck General Sales Manager

$4000, really, back to school for you....... We paid exactly $20,586.75, DTR, and your trade in value was $13,600, a difference of $6986.75, again trying to deceive. I have the trade in value in Anya's writing. We were also told that the new remote starter and Brand new tires added to the trade value. If this is true and reflected in the trade in price offered, what would have been the price without? Trust was lost as soon as we found out from another dealer about the damages. We were extremely embarrassed when they ask if it had ever been in an accident and we said no..... then they produce a CarFax report. We looked like the liars. The only time we were offered anything from SPT, was when thought they still had a chance at a deal. We have not heard from you since you found out we had purchased elsewhere. If you truly wanted a resolution, CALL!, actions speak louder than words. Offer up a new car starter installed and dealer installed auto headlights. Or even the money back that we lost on a trade in. (Based on another Dealerships estimation of our loss) We really did like this dealership, but all this has damaged our trust.
