I went in to trade my truck, which was no longer serving our growing families By far the worst sales experience of my life thanks to Monica Townsend. I went in to trade my truck, which was no longer serving our growing families needs, for a mini van. All was good before and during the sale. THREE days after bringing the van home it failed to start and the key would not release from the ignition. I phoned Monica and was advised by her to tow it back to the shop that evening and they would take a look and repair it the following day. The tow truck driver had the same issue with the van failing to start. I was under the impression I would be receiving a call from someone to fill me in on the progress of the van. It was by 5:30pm that evening I decided to phone Monica myself and that’s when things took a turn for the worst. Monica said they were able to start the van up no problem and drive it, clearly they didn’t believe that there was any issue with the van. I assured her the tow truck driver could back me up to the fact it didn’t start. And than the real confusion starts, to what should have been a very straight forward interaction. She went from saying that the techs were working on the van and then suddenly the techs seemed to not be there and went home for the day. She informed me a short time later that the van was “fixed” yet when asked what was done to it she could not produce an answer. She claimed to not have access to any records of what the techs did to the van, but could only tell me that the van was operable and repaired. She was very insistent that the van be dropped off to me but couldn’t at that time supply any type of paper work stating what was “fixed”. I refused to take the van back and told her I could wait until Monday when the techs were back and the mystery repair could than be revealed. She had very empty and vague responses at that point and could only reply back with “perfect” and “a hundred percent” which made no sense in the context of our conversation. Monday early afternoon Monica called me to say the van was fixed and good to go. Although still not able to tell me on the phone what was fixed and that I could not personally talk to a service tech. She said that when we come to the dealership to pick the van up we would then be informed as to what was done. I immediately asked to speak to the Vice President and was told she would get him to call me. I found out that afternoon that Monica couldn’t give me an answer because NOTHING was done to the van. She is the reason people dislike salespeople. She has zero integrity and there is not a genuine bone in her body. She took what should have been an enjoyable experience for my family and a new beginning and turned it in to a horrible stressful event. Drop the excuses Monica and show some genuine respect and you will get better results. I still don’t have a van. There has been a complaint filed with AMVIC as well as the Better Business Bureau to hopefully resolve this issue. Since dealing with the President himself there seems to actually be some truth telling and solution finding so I am hopeful. I DO NOT recommend Monica as a salesperson. The day we left the dealership with the van Monica reminded me a few times to go online and write a review so here it is. More
