Amazing customer service - Service Department I called in yesterday to make an appt. to get my Traverse in because we could feel a "wobbling" at 80-100 km/h. They got me in this morning. When I got there, Michael asked me some questions and did a visual inspection of my tires. He told me my tires were quite dirty (from being on muddy gravel roads). He said he could probably save me the cost of an inspection by just going to the car wash and giving the tire wells a real good power wash. Then he gave me his card and said to give him a call back if it didn't work. I went and did the power wash, but still noticed the "wobble". I called him and he said to come back. Once I got there, he looked over the tires, but said there was still quite a bit of mud on the inside of the wheel wells (hard to see from the outside) and was likely throwing the balance off. He asked someone to take my vehicle up to the wash bay and try to get the mud off the inside. They went and did a proper clean and then did a road test and then came back to tell me the "wobble" was gone. And the most generous part of all this is that they didn't even charge me anything. I really appreciated that Michael had the experience and insight to recognize what the issue was (I feel a little embarrassed that it was just because my tired were so muddy). They could have easily just taken it in and charged me for a full inspection. This is my third visit for service at Shaw GMC and they are amazing! It is like night and day compared to GSL service!!!! More

They drop you off and they pick you up after they are done. More

I dropped my truck off last week for some minor services, new windshield, change to summer tires, and decided to overpay and have it detailed so i didn't have to drop my truck off twice.. later i was told i needed a wheel alignment, i didn't notice any problems, but it was possible so i ok'd the work. The next evening when i went to pick up my truck i noticed it was parked in a pile of dirt, and the exterior was noticeably dirty, there was dust covering my truck, someone had rolled down the windows when they were wet, there was wax spots covering my entire truck, my topper and truck bed were not even touched, and there was dried water stains below all my door handles where water had dripped out after the wash.. but the inside was mostly clean and i had things to do. (by mostly i mean only the areas that were immediately noticeable, IE. the cup holders and most other crevasse were not even touched, aswell all my service records that i keep in the back of my seats were soaked and mostly ruined) i returned home, (20min) when i went to open my door i noticed that my door handle was broken, snapped in two places. I called immediately to inform them of the damages and they asked me to come back so they could look at it.. it was a couple days before i had the time to return, only for them to inform me that this is a common problem and they would not fix it... When i had dropped my truck off it was not broken, when i picked it up.. it was... common problem or not, they broke it.. and it had clearly been disturbed, so someone had noticed the problem and had tinkered with it to try and fix it, but had said nothing.. Her response was very prompt, knowledgeable and covered full technical details. She was very positive and helpful for resolving my vehicle's problem. She quickly confirmed my service appointment and shuttle rides for next day morning i.e. on July 30, 2015, 7.15 am. At the service center next day morning, I found service consultant Clinton Carpenter competent and helpful. He looked into complete history of my vehicle's VIN and confirmed that no recall is pending. My vehicle was ready in all technical aspects at 4.00 pm. I could not meet the actual technical persons performing work on my vehicle, but being a technical person myself and seeing the quality work on my vehicle, the team must be highly competent. I would recommend Shaw GMC to anyone requiring reliable and honest service on GM vehicles. Thank you Dianne, Clinton and Shaw GMC. More

Before I took my car in, I talked to Service Department service agents a great deal to figure out what exactly needs to be done for the regular maintenance; I was initially suggested a different set of service items than the owner's manual so it took some time to pin down what services were indeed needed or applicable. There were a few Service Adviser desks at the vehicle intake area when I took my car in. Rather surprising that nobody greeted me so I had to pause and look around for a few secs hoping someone would say something like a 'Hi' so I knew who was available to help me but nobody did. At the end I had to approach 1. It got better though after the initial setback; shuttle service was excellent and all work done efficiently before the end of the day. I however noticed some light scratch noise from under the steering wheel when turning; the recall was on the steering cable(recall # 14139) not a hard one as one would say but now I need to take my car back in to have this checked out. While I'd still give Shaw GMC another chance, I reserve my verdict of service quality at this dealership. Will update after their follow-up of the recall service. More

Hard to make an Appointment I found that they never return calls if you leave a message to make an appointment. You need to call back many times until you get a real person and n I found that they never return calls if you leave a message to make an appointment. You need to call back many times until you get a real person and not an answering machine. If they are late in completing a work order, you will never get a call nor will they answer or return your call. That being said, once you have a booking they generally do a great job and if they finish as expected you will get a call. I've gone there for over 10 years, however they really need to improve this booking problem and not overbook their service bays! More
