Quick and Easy I saw Mr. Stone Hu at the dealership. Probably spent 30 minutes only. I told him what I wanted and he gave me a good deal. A week later I came back to I saw Mr. Stone Hu at the dealership. Probably spent 30 minutes only. I told him what I wanted and he gave me a good deal. A week later I came back to finalize the deal and a few days later I got my new Outback 3.6R Limited. Altogether we spent an hour max. Mr. Hu knows the products and definitely knows what you want. I highly recommend this dealer and Mr. Hu. More
Very honor and friendly. Went out of their way I went into a downtown Subaru dealership because my 2009 Outback(only has 90,000km!) has a "machine gun" noise from under the engine. That dealership I went into a downtown Subaru dealership because my 2009 Outback(only has 90,000km!) has a "machine gun" noise from under the engine. That dealership, after charged me 1/2 hour labor and told me that they can't find the problem that makes the noise. They suspected that I may have a problem in one of the cylinders. There are 2 options for: 1) take the engine apart and try to fix it. 2) replace it with another used engine. The cost for either options would be about Cdn$8,000 to Cdn$10,000. The engine in my car is only having 90,000 km on it and is being considered a "puppy". Man, it is a Boxer engine which some have over 400,000km and are still running strong! After all, I didn't see any engine warning light and I don't feel I am loosing power while driving. Plus, I took good care of the car. Other than having regular maintenance according to the book, I switched to use synthetic oil since at around 40,000 km. So, I took the car to Scarboro Subaru, where I got my car from, for a second opinion. The diagnose from Jeff Martin (Service Advisor) really shocked me: "torque convertor found loose with one bolt damaged. The cost is 5 hours + parts (about Cdn$500) instead of 1/2 hour + parts. The reason is, being very compact and no room under the hood to work with the bolt, they have to lift the engine up to get to it. While my car is in the shop, I might do the 100,000km service as well. So, the bill came to Cdn$2,154.57. They feel my stress from the other dealer, the gave me a rental car for 3 days and through in a *FREE* detailing. When I got the car back, it was just like a new car. i.e. sparkling clean and smell like a new car and runs like a new car. And, it only costed me Cdn$600 instead of Cdn$8,000, plus an unknown engine!!!! I am a very, very happy camper. What an excellent services I got from Scarboro Subaru!!!!!! I went back to that downtown Subaru dealer to talk to the service manager asking for an explanation on their misdiagnose. His impression on his face showed that he did not believe what I said from Scarboro Subaru until I present the invoice from Scarboro Subaru. He simpler said that he has never seen/had this kind of noise problem. That is it PERIOD!!!! If I didn't go for another opinion, I will spend Cdn$10,000 + the 100km service. In return, I lost a perfectly good engine and I will get back same(???) / unknown quality old engine. What a rotten deal!!!!! The moral of the story is 1) you have to get a second opinion if the diagnose is too bad to be true 2) never go to that downtown Subaru dealer for any service. Excellent Experience in Dealing with a Defect We received a notice last Friday of an airbag defect with our recently purchased 2009 Subaru Impreza. The issue was of high concern as we were plannin We received a notice last Friday of an airbag defect with our recently purchased 2009 Subaru Impreza. The issue was of high concern as we were planning to go on a road trip with a full car the following weekend. Jeff Martin was my first point of contact and immediately put the part on order. He suggested options (i.e. Subaru discount rental rate) to get around my issue. To my surprise Jeff called me back within 2 days with the part on hand. Jeff should be commended for his excellent customer service and ability to recommend alternative options given the timing of the defect notice. Knowing that my timeframe was tight he reached out to me asap after the repair was completed. In my view, Jeff embodies the Subaru brand and reputation of dependability and professionalism. More importantly he took a negative issue (the defect) and turned it into a positive experience -which is not an easy thing to do. Because of this experience, we will continue to service our car at Scarborough Subaru -despite it being a 40 minute drive from our home. More

The SUV market is much bigger now with more choices. So it was exciting to see all the cars available on the market. The only thing I was not looking forward to is negotiating to buy the car. I went to many dealerships to test drive different cars and some of the salespeople sales tactic was rubbing me the wrong way. Compared to when I purchased my first SUV, this was a very pleasant and agreeable experience, and Jose Ferradas-Gil made it all possible. When I bought my first car in 2000, the salesperson made all this theatrics when I was trying to get a good deal. He would clench his chest as if he had a heart attack. I was younger at the time and did not appreciate all the nonsense back and forth. I just wanted a fair deal. Thank goodness I met Jose during my research. Jose is professional, polite, kind, fair and all around great person to deal with. When we were negotiating the price for the car, he was upfront, calm and very nice. He made everything simple and clear. I actually was confused that we agreed on a deal as it so simple and straight forward and it went by quickly. Even when I went to pick up my new car, Jose sat in the car with me, explaining all the features and every new technology. He took all the time I needed to get comfortable with the car. My old SUV had none of these features. Even with the paperwork, Jose explained every detail in a clear manner And my new Subaru is a very nice car. I am amazed by the quality and hope to enjoy for at least the next 20 years. Jose is a great salesperson to deal with as he is attentive, wanting to answer any questions and does not use any high pressure sales technique. And every family member who I introduced him to considered him a downright nice person to deal with who is straightforward. Thank you Jose, it was a pleasure to deal with you.
