Reshaud, When I came to work today ( Monday ) I saw a note on my desk that you still had concerns about the wetness of undercoat that we applied to your Rav4. While this product will develop a skin and cure over time, it does not ever get hard like a paint does. It must remain pliable to allow for the bending and flexing that takes place on the underside of the vehicle during normal driving conditions. This being said, I know how frustrated you have felt having made several trips to the dealership seeking a remedy, and now your lack of confidence in the performance of these two products. Our goal in doing the re-applications of the sound guard undercoat was to seek a solution to your concerns, not to give you the run around. Having been the South Surrey / White Rock area's Toyota dealer since 1966, we know the importance of happy customers, and I want your Rav4 ownership to be a great experience for you. Please let me know when you are able to come to the store, as I want to make sure that I am personally available so that you and I can reach a resolution that lets you get on with enjoying your Rav. Hello Jordan, I am sorry to hear that you have had problems with your 2006 GMC Canyon. As per our discussion yesterday, we are willing to help out with this situation. I believe I may have been unclear, so I would like to clarify for you what we can do: We are willing to pay for a diagnosis of the problem to start with. With this being a condition that was not present at the time of our ownership of this truck, we need to first determine the cause of the problem. We recomend option#2 to save you the expense. 1.We are willing to pay for 50% of the tow bill to have the vehicle brought to a shop here in White Rock (due to the distance from the Kits area and it not being necessary to have it brought out here). 2.We are willing to pay for the vehicle to be towed to a reputable shop of your choice in the area in which you live to complete the diagnosis at our expense. Regardless of which shop you take the vehicle to, we will participate in the repair cost. Our participation may be limited to a certain amount depending on the cause and nature of the problem (for example if modification have been made resulting in the problem) To address the concerns on the safety inspection, the truck did have a safety inspection performed before you taking possession. To address your concerns regarding the spark plugs, they do not remove spark plugs on safety inspections. It is relatively normal to have some difficulty removing spark plugs from modern vehicle if they have not been out in a few years. Generally if they come out, you may as well replace them (the reason they don’t remove them). Please let me know which way you would like to proceed. As mentioned in previous conversations, we offered to diagnose the problem at no charge and assist with the cost of any repairs needed. Paul, Thank you for taking the time to complete a review of your experience at our dealership. I am hoping that, if you are still in the market, we can still assist you with your purchase of a 2014 Toyota Tundra. Based the email correspondance that you and I had, as well as your comments in your post, you seemed to feel that the price I offered you for a new Tundra was a fair one, and one that you were happy enough with to proceed to the next step of bringing your Tacoma down to be appraised. Trade-in values are one of the biggest hurdles to overcome during a car sale process, especially with nice trade-ins. The seller of the vehicle, because of how they cared for it, their pride of ownership, and all the great experience they had with it, always feels it is worth the "top of the mark". This is natural. To the buyer, and in our case, one who is purchasing the vehicle for resale, past experience comes to play in the vehicle's value too.In addition to reconditioning, which in the case of your X-Runner would involve us purchasing and installing 4 new tires, I need to take our local market into mind when assessing value. As a dealership, we have not had a lot of success in selling 2WD trucks during the winter months, and they tend to sit on the lot until Spring or early Summer. Same can be said for manual transmissions, which make up less than 5% of the trucks we sell. In order to sell a truck with both of these specifications, I need to be able to price it at an attractive price point, and therefore need to purchase it at a point that makes sense to the dealership. I am sorry that we had a difference of opinion over your Tacoma's value, and if you were interested in pursuing the purchase of your Tundra without trading in your truck, I would certainly honour the discounted price that I offered you. I would like the opportunity to get together with you, in person, to see if we can come to some terms that are satisfactory to both of us. I look forward to hearing from you. $6,000. less than what a competing Toyota Dealer offered me on a trade in. I may as well have walked in your office and offered to pay $3,000. more than MSRP. for the 2014 Tundra. I assume the low ball offer also has to do with the Tundra that I requested not being in your inventory may also has something to do with it. I wrote these comments on this site, because I'm getting a little aggravated trying to purchase a 2014 Toyota Tundra. I know I can get over $20k for my X-Runner, if I sold it privately. And I realize I may never get that figure trading it in, especially with BC Toyota dealer. Why I should deal with Peace Arch Toyota and spend close to $6,000 more and not with Open Road Toyota in Richmond?, They offered me $17,500 for my X-Runner and the discount they offered me on the 2014 Tundra was $1,800. I refused the deal because they were only the 2nd Toyota dealer I approached for a 2014 Tundra, The first dealer refused to sell their Toyota Tundra below MSRP, some Toyota dealers are still stuck in the Toyota Canada, No Haggle, Price Fixing Days of the '90s, and any dealer like that will never get my business. even if that means getting a relative in the USA to buy me a Truck from a USA Dealer. You were the 4th BC Toyota dealer that I've approached, there are still at least 16 more BC Toyota dealers from Chilliwack, BC to Vancouver Island still to talk to, I'm in no rush to get a new Tundra and after being insulted by Peace Arch for thinking that I was a sucker, I've decided to wait until Spring time at least, for my pursuit of a new Tundra. As I monitor the inventory of 2014 Tundra's on various lower mainland Toyota lots, so far I've only seen 3 sold since late October, so these trucks are not exactly flying off dealer lots and I will wait until I get a fair deal and it looks like that won't be happening at Peace Arch Toyota.
