We went to the Kia dealership in Orleans on Tuesday, July 2nd, to see if we could trade in our Kia Forte. Initially, we just wanted to find out if a trade-in was possible. A salesperson started helping us bu 2nd, to see if we could trade in our Kia Forte. Initially, we just wanted to find out if a trade-in was possible. A salesperson started helping us but kept going back to ask the manager questions. Before we knew it, we found ourselves in the middle of buying a new car. My spouse asked if there were any additional paperwork, and the salesperson said no, taking our ownership paper and a $1500 deposit. They congratulated us and had us ring a bell in the showroom. My kids were excited, thinking everything was finalized. However, they then took us to the finance manager’s office to collect our financial information. This should have been done first. If our finances were not adequate, they should have informed us immediately, but instead, they trapped us in the process. They said they would get back to us but never did, so we went back on July 4th. The salesperson and finance manager were not there. Another salesperson named Patrick, who claimed to have 10 years of experience, asked us for the same financial information we had provided on Tuesday. On July 5th, Patrick called to say we qualified for a high-interest loan with conditions or needed a co-signer. We decided to cancel and went to get our ownership paper and deposit back. Despite my complaint about the process, no one who had initially helped us came to speak with us. Patrick rudely insisted that this was standard procedure in North America, boasting about his 20 years of experience. How can you trust someone who only cares about you when you’re making a purchase? These people are like wolves in sheep’s clothing. I do not recommend this dealership. Think twice, even three times before going there. They don’t treat you like a human being. They didn’t even say goodbye. More
