I asked the salesperson, Willa (who had approached me) and she said they had taken out the batteries on all the showroom models. WHY? - She couldn't answer, but suggested we go outside to one of the test drive vehicles to look. 2) after seeing the trunk we came inside and sat down at her desk and instead of providing info. about the car and proposing a test drive, she immediately goes straight to the sales pitch and ask if I am willing to buy today. Surprised, I told her I am serious about buying a vehicle, but not unless I first drive the vehicle and see the performance. 3) so Willa then sets out to arrange a test drive and comes back with a form for me to sign. I ask what is this??? and she said they had implement this new policy a week ago in which the customer has to sign this form that not only indemnifies them of all responsibility, but also makes me responsible for any damages incurred from the test drive. I was shocked and told her none of the dealers that I had test driven a vehicle made me sign anything. She was embarrassed and said there was nothing she could do. I asked her after the test drive, if everything is fine, will I get this form back and she responded no. 4) after reluctantly signing the form, I informed Willa that I would like to test drive the CRV on the highway and uphill and see how the car performed. She said because this is a Saturday, we can only go on a set route which was only 5 blocks long and flat. I told her that is not sufficient and is no different than driving in their parking lot. Again, she said that is their policy. At that point I have had enough and told her I am going to another dealer and would like to have my signed form back. She went to fetch it and speak to her manager. When she came back she said she will shred the document instead of giving it to me and did it for me to witness. More
