Brought Yukon in for out of province inspection. I know the condition of the vehicle. they came back nd said that it failed for several reasons. Windshield chip, brakes and leaking rear axle seals. I know the condition of the vehicle. they came back nd said that it failed for several reasons. Windshield chip, brakes and leaking rear axle seals. $2500 was the quote. But lucky for me, they would re-inspect for FREE after spending $2500. I took vehicle to different GM dealer and low and behold. Rock chip in windshield got fixed and passed. NO axle seal leaks and Brakes are fine. These guys are the FRAUDSTERS that give dealerships a bad reputation. STAY AWAY. More
First ever dealership experience; everyone that helped me went above and beyond to ensure I’d get what I wanted and being a single mother budgeting was an issue. They accommodated me and my needs perfectly. went above and beyond to ensure I’d get what I wanted and being a single mother budgeting was an issue. They accommodated me and my needs perfectly. Sounds ridiculous but they literally changed my life!! More
I’ll start with TL;DR for people who don’t like to read entire experience. AVOID THIS PLACE if you don’t want to suffer! Go to literally any other dealership to purchase or service your vehicle. We were entire experience. AVOID THIS PLACE if you don’t want to suffer! Go to literally any other dealership to purchase or service your vehicle. We were hoping our situation will get resolved in friendly & customer appreciating manners, however that wasn’t the case. We visited Okotoks GM in 04/2021 with a recommendation to do an in-house leasing (we were looking to purchase a house at the time and we were recommended to do leasing which wouldn’t show up on our credit report in order to be approved for greater amount). We met Fred. Very friendly person, just like any other sales person. We went there with an idea about what are we looking for - we found white dodge ram laramie on their website. We were told by Fred that they don’t have this one on the lot right now, however they did have pretty much exactly same one but in black. 2017 Dodge Ram Longhorn Laramie, with about 127k on it. Price was okay (around 43k) so we decided we will proceed with the purchase, we also added extended warranty, just to be sure. Total leased amount was 50k, with 4800 downpayment (which we paid by credit card *remember this for later). There were a few little things we wanted them to take care of, such as couple scratches/dents/cosmetic issues, as well as a massive rock chip right in the driver’s. When we were told our vehicle was ready for pick up, we showed up. Paint wasn’t fixed as well as the windshield wasn’t replaced. We insisted on these two things to be done (as we were trustful towards mechanical part of the vehicle - pre-purchase inspection by GM mechanics was done so we were thinking we have nothing to worry about on this part). Finally, they „fixed“ dents/cracks/scratches - not sure how to call this, with touch-up paint, and instead of changing windshield, they filled the rock chip (which helped, however didn’t completely fixed the problem, which I will get to later). Since we had the vehicle, it was kind of pulling to the side, and the steering wheel was vibrating in the higher speed (over 100km/h) which we took the car in for (05/2021), and they swapped tires and said it’s not pulling anymore. However, the pull was still there, but I didn’t want to argue with qualified technicians, they say it’s fixed, so it’s fixed. Okay. Also, since we bought the vehicle, there was this clicking noise, we were thinking it’s normal since we’ve never owned a truck before, and truck passed inspection with their mechanics, well, not true or normal at all. We noticed this sound right away because our friends purchased the same truck (just not longhorn edition, some basic 2017 1500 ram) and they didn’t have this sound - we thought it must be some sort of fancy feature from longhorn? Fast forward to 10/2021, truck went in for tire swap, we were told there is a hole on the exhaust manifold that needs to be fixed, as well as front lower ball joints are worn out and need to be done. After 6 months of owning the truck, we’re expected to pay 4000$ in repairs (even tho we purchased extended warranty for another over $3000, of course these two issues are not covered by this warranty.) We tried talking to Fred who sold us the vehicle, about how it is possible, that truck like this requires such a massive repairs after not even a 6 months. We were kind of thrown around between sales and service, trying to find the solution (like if the service would’ve paid for this repair I wouldn’t say a word). Didn’t hear anything from sales, or from service, lack of communication was ridiculous. We went there in person (end of 12/2021) to see what options do we have - since I got the automatic email (twice) that said they want our truck and will pay great price if we decide to sell. Suddenly we were told our truck trade in value is not even 30k? And if we were going to swap it for a different (new) vehicle we would still end up paying over 800$/month because of the negative equity? We want to return the truck, and they’re asking us to pay 18k? (Yes, a part of it was from the negative equity we had on previous vehicle, which we’d be happy to pay for, however what about the rest?). So let me get this straight: they sell us a truck with problems, and now because of those problems they make trade in value so low? How’s that being fair to their customers? How are we supposed to trust them with purchase of another used vehicle, or even new? I sent an upset email to some sort of manager asking me for feedback (lol, like so many times I got this email..). I explained what happened to us and asked for some solution. Kyra contacted me via phone, apologized, and said she has a friend working at the warranty company and they can do a favour for her - cover the repairs we needed to have done (even tho first time we were told by service that these repairs are NOT covered by warranty). I believe in miracles, well, a miracle has happened, suddenly repairs were covered by warranty and we were good to go and book the appointment..oh no, wait a minute, they’ll order parts first to make sure they have everything they need before we make an appointment (beggining of 01/2022). We were waiting for nearly over three weeks (even tho we were told parts will be there by end of the week). In meanwhile, my husband had his truck parked in front of his work, under cameras. He came to the vehicle, and noticed rear window smashed. Checked cameras, there was no outside impact on this event. The rear window just suddenly cracked, out of blue, and then smashed. Very interesting, it wasn’t even during the coldest snap. Another over 800$ to fix. In meanwhile - remember rock chip I mentioned in the begginning? That we asked them to replace windshield and they just filled it? Yeah, now we had a crack through entire windshield… Anyway, the day when parts arrived, we booked the vehicle in for the repairs (january 20th). They repaired it in 2 days, we only paid for wheel alignment which wasn’t covered by warranty. After we picked up the truck, we drove home. Next day (saturday) I was going to work, suddenly that thing wouldn’t start. Just a click. We assumed dead battery. Bought a new one, replaced, yup not the battery… Called dealership, explained situation. We were told to tow the truck there…on our own cost. Like we just picked up the car from your shop yesterday and today it won’t start and we’re expected to pay for towing? Hello? We were finally able to jumpstart the vehicle and drove to the shop. They „found out“ the battery is not a problem..LOL. Thanks guys. Told us to bring the vehicle to the shop on monday and they can investigate what the problem is (Yes, again on our own cost). During the weekend, we actually noticed that clicking noise was gone (as they repaired the problem) however it was coming back with higher RPM and higher speed. At this point I was so fed up by all bullcrap they were telling us, that I decided we’re getting rid of this piece of s, no matter what the cost will be. My husband went in to talk to Fred. Fred told him that after repairs, we should be able to get 33-34k as trade in value. Okay. Whatever just get it over with. Next day we dropped off the vehicle and were going to be ready to pay off our lease (with credit card - just like we did the downpayment). Suddenly, on the paper, we only saw 32k trade in value. At that point I was done. I told myself I will never ever go back, neither will recommend this place to anyone - better said opposite, will tell everyone I know to AVOID this place under any circumstances. Oh guess what, WE WERENT ABLE TO PAY IT OFF BY CREDIT CARD BECAUSE APPARENTLY IT’S ILLEGAL (but downpayment is fine eh?!). They needed a bank draft (which of course they didn’t say the day before) for 16 209 dollars. So another bunch of hassle for us. Okay, paid off, signed, keys returned, hopefully this is the end. Actually, no it’s not. This was on thursday, january 27th. On tuesday, February 1st ANOTHER payment got taken from my bank account (834$). A couple days later I called leasing company asking why, I was told they don’t know anything about vehicle being returned and paid off… this was one week after we paid it off. I’m running and calling around like an idiot, trying to get my money back, we called numerous times (me or my husband), always was told „we will get back to you“, no one ever did. On monday February 7th I left upset message for Michael Zhu (financial manager) - because guess what - I wasn’t able to get through lol. Haven’t heard anything. Next day I got a call from leasing company, from a lady, who told me „she has a note on the table to call me but she’s unsure why…“. THIS IS THE COMMUNICATION YOU GET FROM THIS PLACE! Left hand doesn’t know what is the right hand doing. Like ever. I explained her entire situation. She said that she can (FINALLY) see in the system that vehicle has been paid off and returned. But it’s going to take a few people to sign and review in order for her to return the payment, apparently she was the very last person who just clicks “send“. I knew it wasn’t her fault so I wasn’t rude to her at all. She said she will try her best to do refund ASAP but can’t promise anything… I STILL DIDN’T GET A REFUND. Broke as xxxx, literally used every single dollar from my savings, line of credit, chequing, everywhere, to get over with this place, and now I don’t have funds to pay my bills, because TWO AND A HALF WEEKS AFTER PAYING OFF THE VEHICLE they still owe me 834$. It took them exactly 4 weeks since paying off the vehicle (returning it) & 24 days since they debited my account to return this amount. End of story. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! If there will be any updates after I post this, I will definitely update the story.. More
