The big tire was pronounced "unrepairable" and Northstar was able to order and install a new winter tire in less than 24 hours. Everyone was very helpful, especially Liane. Thanks, Northstar. I feel that the dealership overall has improved considerably since the fall of 2011 when I bought the first truck. I like dealing with Nathan. He has a similar approach to a fellow I dealt with for 30 years in Saskatoon. I am not interested in haggling over the price. Tell me the price you want and I either accept it or go elsewhere. I also want to state that I always received good service from Michael,(sp?) service adviser at Cochrane on the 2011 F150 which contributed to my decision to buy another Ford. I did have issues with the 2011 F150 when new (8000 km's) and I had decided to buy a Ram in the fall of 2012 as soon as the 2013's were available and never buy another Ford however Marty stepped up to the plate and had the 2011 repaired so that was definatley taken into account when making this purchase. The door # code didn't work and it appears that it isn't under the extended service plan! Don't know why! Will have to talk to someone about this issue as it should be included in the electrical. I really really don't want to have to pay over $700 to have it replaced! Cassandra in Service was great. More

As we had purchased Fords prepaid four year service plan, a complete inspection was done, oil / filter was change, wipers and air filter replaced, tires rotated. All fluids inspected and topped up as required. I received a detailed inspection report, which include brake pad and tire measurements. I chose to wait for the vehicle, rather than leaving it and using their shuttle. Approximately an hour and half later, they came and told me everything was complete, they reviewed the items serviced and off I went. Waiting room had free wifi and coffee, so time went by quickly. Overcharged and Not happy at all ! I have been taking My Ford Focus to Norhtstar Ford since I have owned My Ford Focus Titanium ( I love my car and wanted to continue buying Ford Produc I have been taking My Ford Focus to Norhtstar Ford since I have owned My Ford Focus Titanium ( I love my car and wanted to continue buying Ford Products ) I have always had pretty good service from the service department as far as friendliness goes , in fact I have to say that I always had a great experience especially when dealing with Mitch Coppieter ! I am not a hard person to please and I totally understand that there are costs and risks involved with owing a car esp past it's warranty ! The other day my car would not start ! My fiancé , had told me he would look at it later and we could take it to Canadian Tire or somewhere , I SAID ( and I am so sorry I did now ) NO !! I want to take it to a Ford Dealership because they know the car and they are ford certified ( guess all the money spent on commercials do help ) Anyway I had it towed in , and was told it would be $189 just to look at it ! I get it should cost something but $189 is high ! Then she said if its the battery its going to be $199 ( on sale* ) again ridiculous price ! But it was there so nothing I could do ! As I was picking up my rental , I got a call already ( got it in quick , very happy about that ) and she said the battery is totally dead we have to replace it before we can even look at it !! Really ? you can't hook up another one and check things out ? Anyway OK ! Again stuck ,hat am I gonna do ? So ( luckily ) that **fixed** it !! So bottom line it cost Me $447 ( minus the oil change which ironically included a battery test lol ) to replace a battery in my car !!! Why ? Only because I insisted on , and trusted Ford to look after me :( ! THEN I get in my car and immediately upon starting the car , an alert came up saying 911 assist disabled call dealership and NO radio ( all of this was in perfect running order before I brought it in ) So I called Brittany out right away I KNEW enough not to drive off the lot ! And she said can you leave it with Me ? And No ,, I could not I JUST returned my rental and was late starting my day as it was . It is very difficult for Me ( most anyone these days ) to take time out of my schedule . SO I had to bring it back the next day !! When I brought in ,,and this is where I REALLY have an issue !! She wanted me to sign off on another $189 diagnostic fee !!!! I ,of coarse refused to sign it , and she proceeded to call in a cpl of people to help her out with my refusal to sign off on that ( I was very kind about it by the way ) And , the person she called said , well this may not be directly related to the battery being replaced so we need to take another look ! YOU released a car to me that was not fixed after I already paid an original diagnostic fee ! He said well the mechanic said everything was running perfectly ( Yep , I'm a liar-even though I did NOT leave the lot without showing Brittany that it was not totally fixed before I even put it in gear !! ) So ,,he said ,,let us look at it and see what's going on and we will work with you after that . So leave my car there , Brittany phoned , there was a fuse that had gone and it will cost $107 to fix it ( did not realise at the time that they had put another $100 on there -"diag" fee ) ok ! Then phoned back , 911 works but not the radio , sync is covered if there is an issue , BUT we have to reprogram the system-$80 ( again something my fiancé could most likely do ) BEFORE we can tell you if it is the system itself malfunctioning . And that did work . So another $200 So all said and done , for a battery , a fuse , and reprogramming it cost me $641 !!!! I would be ashamed to treat my clients this way :( ! This is a business where repeat business should be a must , you spend $1000.00's of advertising BUT then , people get treated like this ! And all those advertising dollars are out the window because we live in a world where there is social media and that kind of advertising both bad and good btw , is even more costly . So that $100 fee on top of the other already ridiculous price , will cost a LOT more ! Last time I was in for service my warranty was going to expire ( peace of mind is very important to me ,,this is a good example , $650 within 90 days of my warranty exp ) Anyway ,,thought I would look into seeing what it would cost for a new ford ( again love my car ) My car does have some damage on it ( park assist malfunctioned and sep hit an run ) So did not expect much for an offer on it but , decided to see what they would say after I was approached by a salesperson . Long story short they were going to give me I think it was somewhere between $2800 and $3500 can't really remember ,,all do remember is feeling VERY insulted ( intelligence ) and to get into a 2014 it would cost me ( can't remember again but it would have been a lot ) So that brings me to today ,,I'm running scared , a battery , a fuse , and reprogram JUST cost me huge ! I went to Mitsibushi ONLY because of there 10!! Year 160,000!!! warranty ! And guess what ? I was not even going to let them appraise my car for trade in ,,but thought , what can it hurt ,,THEY offered Me $9000 -$1500 for repair -$7500 !!! SHAME on you Ford :( This is long enough already , so I'm done here , but I am planning on going public with all of this , people need to know and protect themselves in this world unfortunately ! I really wanted Ford to be better than this , I know that other dealerships are very similar in all of this BUT ,,just imagine the market share you would hold if you treated people over and above the rest ??! Can't buy that advertising ,,OH ,and the vehicle I am looking at is a 2015 way better priced then the 2014 Ford I looked at , has some very nice features as well AND comes with FREE oil changes for life - that is service !! And btw , no one could tell me if the new battery they put in even has a warranty on it or not :(:( !! More

However, I feel they don't live up to their mission statement which reads something like this: "doing everything possible to make sure customers have their vehicles as many minutes out of the year" Every time I show up there, I get the earliest possible booking and usually the first or second customer at the service center, because I need my van for my business literally ASAP. The way I see it is every minute they have it, I'm loosing money. When I drop it off for a simple service, they expect me to just leave it with them for the whole day and tell me they'll call me when it's ready, so basically I have to write off a whole day of work every time I bring my vehicle in. Yesterday, I dropped my van off at 7:00 a.m. and got a phone call around 2:00 p.m. telling me they just put my van on the hoist and the tires they sold me wouldn't fit! The tires not fitting part didn't bother me much, I was actually extremely upset that I wasted most of my day when I made an appointment for first thing in the morning and my vehicle didn't even get looked at 'till mid afternoon. Not only that, I never did receive a phone call when it was completed and just showed up at the end of the day, because I was losing my patience, only to see my van sitting in the parking lot getting cold after the work had been completed. Needless to say, I can clearly see they can do a million times better with scheduling and getting their customers back in their vehicles sooner....That's their promise in their mission statement after all...a promise that I depend on them keeping, but see very little effort to deliver.
