Dealership's policy, not Nikki's fault, but within the first 3 visits there was ample time inform me prior to signing off on paper work. Classic bait an switch. Drove many different brands of vehicles, Nikki definitely encouraged buying Volkswagen over Nissan, Ford, BMW and Toyota. That pressure was clear through the process. Overall happy with process. Manou was fantastic in finance department and I found her very helpful with years of experience. This was an ok experience compared to the last dealership I purchased from, but timing was important, so it it was a fit. More
Myself and my husband have now collectively purchased three vehicles from the Northland Volkswagen dealership, and up until this point, have always had great experiences. To clarify, we had still a great three vehicles from the Northland Volkswagen dealership, and up until this point, have always had great experiences. To clarify, we had still a great experience this round with their sales department and in particular working with English Matt. He was an excellent salesperson, honest and forthcoming, setting realistic expectations and delivered above and beyond what we were looking for. However, it was the experience with the finance manager, Madison V., that left me feeling shocked and disturbed at both her and the dealership's business practices. Let's not be naive - we all know walking into that office it's their job and they make their money off trying to sell you every manner of added services and products. However, the lengths and practices that Madison went to to secure those additional sales were frankly unprofessional, unethical, and at one point down right sexist. Even if you give Madison the benefit of the doubt, and say she was being exceptionally pessimistic on the depreciation value of the car, you don't have to be a mathematician to see that her numbers weren't adding up or founded in reality. Language such as "WHEN you are in a car accident", "WHEN the insurance company denies your claim", "WHEN you die and your family is left with the remaining payments" - it's a bit much. Calculator at the ready, and many a rebuttal of "IF", she struggled to keep her cool and launched into an almost impressive degradation of Volkswagen products in general, spouting how likely they were to break down over the first 4 years unless we bought added protection. I would think management would want to look into her lack of integrity and devaluing of their own products. Even my question of, well do you not have faith in your own product, doesn't sound like this is something we want to be buying then, resulted in a weak back track of her previous statements. It was two hours of me politely (hopefully still by the end) refusing every additional add on. At the end, I was outright lied to that the posted finance rate would only be offered if I purchased additional insurance. All of this, maybe I would have washed my hands of it, and just never bought another car from them. But what was most disturbing - and leads to a proper google review - is how sexist I was treated at the end. After refusing several times the same additional warranty, she asked (twice) if "maybe we should call your husband, and see if he feels different". The car and loan was in my name, it was my credit that was pulled, and I was the only one listed on those documents. I have a good job and (humblebrag) exceptional credit. I am 100% capable, mentally and financially of making my own decisions and she made me feel like it was the 1970s and I had to call my husband to ask permission to make a purchase. These are big lines to cross, and she should be ashamed of herself - and the dealership for hiring people who employ these practices. I really don't leave bad reviews for businesses, but this was a really bad experience. In a car market where you're already spending more than you would have years ago, please take your business elsewhere. We love our Volkswagen Taos, and it was great to work with English Matt - but we do not recommend this dealership, and we have already told our family and friends looking for cars to purchase elsewhere. I would never recommend anyone to deal here because they are thefts. They don’t disclose information that could be healthy for the customer but instead rip people off for more sale. Salesman English Matt and his manager are the most discriminating employees on this dealership. MAKE SURE DONOT TRUST ON THEM. More

Beware and use caution with buying from them. I was never told about a accident on the vehicle until I had signed for the car and in the middle of taking delivery. From the get go I have had issu I was never told about a accident on the vehicle until I had signed for the car and in the middle of taking delivery. From the get go I have had issues with my car, which until going back and forth with a salesman who barely reached out until I had to go around to the management team to finally have some of the issues resolved. After this the salesman was great to deal with that is until I had to reach out again after this concern on my vehicle still persisted. At first I thought a wheel balance, so I got my winters taken off in the spring to the all seasons and still had my shimmy concern present on the car. Then I reach out to the store again with zero response, only got spoken too when I arrived at the dealership in person. I live out of town and had to drive in 30 mins just to have someone speak with me for 5 mins. Finally booked in and they did step up to put me in a filthy used car for the time my vehicle was there. I had a concern with my power mirror making a weird noise compared to the other side. Only to be told it's normal by the salesman after a tech told him it's fine. After that the service rep told me it needing to be replaced and would cost 1500 dollars. Normal pricing yes but I purchased and extended warranty that would have covered it (they knew prior that I had this) pushed it aside. My shimmy is still present which they insist is a wheel balance concern. I truly don't believe this is the concern as I am a service advisor at another store. Typically that would be present at highway speeds and not at initial acceleration. Told all is normal and just needs the balance. I then said okay buy the car back from me, they appraised it while it was there only to offer $8000 less than I paid just back in November. This is unethical and this dealership should be ashamed of the way the present themselves as a company. Just use discretion when buying pre-owned here and be weary about the certification process because they may not help you out and leave you high and dry More

I was dealing with Dylan, who’s been going above and beyond to make sure my needs are met, even after the sale was completed. He has been exceeding all of my expectations and deserves all the praise in the world. Manou was helping me on the finance end and also did an amazing job taking care of me. I tried to open my sunroof last week, only to find that the sunroof would not open completely. One side opened and the other side stayed closed. When I tried to close it it would not close. So we call Nor the sunroof would not open completely. One side opened and the other side stayed closed. When I tried to close it it would not close. So we call Northland Volkswagen to book a service appointment to have it fixed. Sam, the services manager calls us back letting us know they will not be able to fix it and they will need to order a new sunroof ($3200 + 190 just to look at it). When my husband asks why did this happen, why did the sunroof break, we were told by Sam, " You didn't properly maintain your sunroof, so it's your fault". How do you maintain a sunroof?? I have never maintained a sunroof and when I looked in the manual, there is no section on how to maintain a sunroof. So this dealership likes to place blame on the customers for the mechanical issues the brand has. If this was the end of my experience I might not be writing this review. We agreed to paid the exorbitant cost to fix the sunroof because we have no choice. A roof in Calgary is not an option and we needed a working roof on my car. Sam phones the next day informing us that they cannot fix the bug guard would we like to order a new one. No, we would not. Just fix the sunroof so it will close. When we pick it up the next day, the WHITE roof is covered with grease. So they did not take the time to ensure they used gloves or cleaned up after installing the new sunroof (which we paid 3400 to replace). So DO NOT BRING YOU CAR HERE. THEY WILL BLAME YOU AND THEN RETURN YOUR CAR TO YOU IN A WORSE CONDITION THAT YOU BROUGHT IT TO THEM IN. More
