Overpriced Incompetence would be a severe understatement to describe my experience with Mercedes Benz Brampton. After going to MB Brampton: I am left with a car I cannot register. A repair bill of over 1 to describe my experience with Mercedes Benz Brampton. After going to MB Brampton: I am left with a car I cannot register. A repair bill of over 1500$ A rental car which I have to cover on my own, minimum $500+. Weeks of delay to be able to put the car on the road and use it. Here's how all that came to fruition. I found a Mercedes that I was looking to purchase from a private seller. Since I live in Montreal and the car was located in Toronto, I called Mercedes Benz Brampton to schedule at my own cost a thorough inspection of the vehicle. I of course mentioned I am from Montreal and I would like to have the car inspected in order to make sure there is nothing wrong with it before making the trip to see it in person and potentially make the purchase. I was told that the inspection would cost 250-300$ plus tax and they would be able to do it, I would pay by phone and receive the inspection report by email / phone call. Everyone was very courteous and nice up until this point. I received a video where the mechanic who checked the car told me everything was spotless, not one issue found, I was of course super happy. The invoice arrived by email and it was 462$ tax included. Pretty big difference from what I was initially told, so I did ask the service advisor why such a difference and he said that this is the price for this type of inspection, pretty unsatisfactory reasoning, but I was soo happy the car was in such good shape I let it go. I bought the car, got a plate transfer that would be valid until July 8th, drove it back to Montreal (arrived with no issues). A few days later I had my appointment on July7th for the obligatory provincial pre-registry inspection (this inspection is by no means a super in-depth verification, just a safety check to make sure the car is safe to be on the road). INSPECTION RESULTS: Oil pan and transmission pan are riddled with rust and spray painted black to hide it Front lower control arms left and right need to be changed Front left and right wheel bearings need to be changed All 4 air-valves on the wheels are cracked (I could have had a flat tire anytime on my 600km journey back to MTL) The mechanic was kind enough to bring me in the garage and show me all these issues, which I also have a report of. Due to these findings the car does not pass inspection and cannot be registered Total for these repairs (not including oil and tranny pan replacement) $ 1 581.50 (quoted from a non Mercedes garage that I've used in the past, obviously this quote would be much higher at a MB dealer garage) On top of which I need to rent a car at my own cost to be able to work I have to reschedule the inspection and pay an extra fee for reinspection. I have to tow the car at my own cost (as the transfer plate expired on July 8th ) to the garage to fix it and then from the garage to the inspection place. What's funny is the Service manager at MB Brampton, William Dedora is his name - Here is his proposed solution ( ---We will refund 50% of the inspection fee (which was already inflated by 100$ for no reason) as the car passes as is to be registered in Ontario. WHAT a JOKE I am currently in contact with Mercedes-Benz Canada, hopefully they can help rectify this situation. I will update this review as everything continues to unfold. Btw Karan Chitnis was the service advisor I dealt with Peter Cummings was the person who check the car itself or so I was told) Leah Simeon is the Director of client experience (I've been in contact with her) and I have to say she seems to be the only one that wants to find a solution and sympathizes with the position I'm in right now. Please due yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere so you don't have to risk being in an unpleasant situation. More
