I discovered that there was a recall on my car by watching the news. Markham Honda failed to notify me. It was a very dangerous one, too - exploding airbag. Would have been nice of them to let me know. After months of waiting for the part to arrive, I finally booked an appointment and made a trip into Markham to drop my car off. After a couple of hours, they called me to say that the part was on back order. No apology at all. I called a guy named Syed to ask why they didn't check on the availability of the part before allowing me to come in. Again, no apology. He just reiterated that the part was on backorder. I asked him what he was going to do to make this up to me, given that my wife and I both own Hondas, and we'd been loyal customers for many years, and he actually said "nothing".
