Sales Trap and So-Called "Mandatory" Hidden Fees I would like to share my car buying experience at Markham Honda and hopefully the management can look into it and give me a satisfying solution. I bought a certified pre-owned Accord last week and was asked to pay $895 for "dealership admin" which I later found out to be unreasonably high comparing with what most other dealerships would charge their customers. In addition, my financing contract automatically included an approximately $1000 "credit insurance for disability and life" in the total loan amount and the finance manager did not even disclose this insurance to me at the time of my loan application. At the time of signing the contract, the manager made it sound like the insurance is mandatory for getting the loan approved which now I found out to be totally wrong: lenders should never use the purchase of a credit insurance as a requirement for securing the loan. Neither of my sales representative and the finance manager even mentioned this automatically added insurance premium until I noticed the difference between the after-tax price of the car and the actual finance amount and pointed it out myself, like it would be a "free win" or an "added bonus" for them if I didn't notice it. As a first time car buyer I don't have a lot of experience dealing with all these sorts of traps and so-called "mandatory" fees. I expect this branch as a major and legitimate dealership in the Markham area would disclose all the details and options and not rip customers off by charging all these hidden and unreasonable fees which they make them sound mandatory to a customer. This makes a very bad image not only for Markham Honda but also the whole Honda Brand. I am very upset and unsatisfied with this experience and I would like to get a proper explanation and solution from Markham Honda and Honda Canada about these matters. I'm also filing a complaint to the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services about this issue. More

Extremely disappointed in lease agreement I am really upset with this dealer. I put a down payment for a lease on the new CRV with Markham Honda on a date in September 2017 and picked up the c I am really upset with this dealer. I put a down payment for a lease on the new CRV with Markham Honda on a date in September 2017 and picked up the car in October 2017. As I was going over the lease term, it turns out that the car was due 4 years later on the date in September (ultimately making me pay for an extra week of leasing the car since I'm forced to return it a week earlier). I called Honda Canada to see whether this was normal or not, and they confirmed that the end of my lease should be the day I picked up my car (in October). Honda Canada said they would investigate and follow up with Markham Honda. Markham Honda contacted me, by giving me this link to review their service, and completely ignoring my complaint. So here it is: I would not recommend this dealer unless they actually resolve these issues and compensate their customers. More

Experience on purchasing a CRV I thoroughly enjoyed the experience I had with Tom. He was helpful and easy to deal with.
