It is unfortunate that I can't split my rating between sales and service. If I could, I would rate my sales experience five star and one star for service. Let me explain. I bought my first new motorcy sales and service. If I could, I would rate my sales experience five star and one star for service. Let me explain. I bought my first new motorcycle from Maranello BMW and I cannot say enough about their sales representative, Cray Scarlett. He was helpful and responsive before the sale and accommodating as we worked through the sales process. Part of the purchase included a top box that was an "extra". Their internal process was such that Cray could not process the request and was required to hand me off to their parts department. When speaking with the parts department, I told them it was for a new bike and needed to be installed prior to my arrival (I live 2 hours away). I also went the extra step and asked the parts associate to ensure that he kept Cray "in the loop". The item was ordered and arrived a couple days prior to my picking up the bike. So far not a problem. When I arrive to pick up the bike, I discovered that the bike was not ready because the parts department did not tell sales. Cray was very apologetic as he explained what happened. What would have taken 40 minutes took over two hours due to a flawed process where the "right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing". My goal in writing this is not to punish Maranello. Quite the opposite; I am hopeful that they will use this experience to enhance their process. Your team is only excellent when all batons are passed smoothly. Again, my two star rating is for my experience with the organization as a whole. Cray was awesome. More
