We bargained in good faith, and negotiated a deal without hard feelings on either side. The sales superiors who had to approve the deal were friendly and courteous. The time was late, and it was closing time for the dealership, but they stuck around until everything was finalized. My issues are with the Finance person, Stan. Although he was excited to be dealing with a person with the same name, that's where the good stuff ended. Many people are of the opinion that the most pressure is exerted by car sales people and insurance sales people. At this dealership, this finance person was the pressure point. I fully understand the benefits of purchasing extended coverages, but I do not always purchase them. I accepted some and rejected others, but this man found it very difficult to accept NO for an answer. He said he sold extended coverages to 100% of his customers and had a very hard time with me ruining his perfect record. I was made to feel inferior and was criticized for my decisions in what I felt was a demeaning manner. The bottom line is that I had a good sales experience that was ruined by the financial end of things. If I had it to do over again, I would walk out the moment my opinions were abased. More
