Crosstown Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

I have been to this dealership many times for my oil changes. Every time I go there they do a “free” inspection. Every time I get the “free” inspection, they have a list of “recommended” services that n changes. Every time I go there they do a “free” inspection. Every time I get the “free” inspection, they have a list of “recommended” services that need to be done to the tune of $1500 to $2000. The problem that I have with this is that all of the “recommended” services that they suggest have been done. They are absolutely not needed. The perfect example of this is that they recommended a tire rotation. I have put on studded winter tires that are directional. It is November. How long do you think those tires have been on that vehicle? A Quick Look in the computer would show that all of the recommended services have been done already. When I asked why they are recommending services that have already been done or are clearly not needed, I was told that they recommend it by the mileage. So do they do an inspection to see if the services need to be done or just recommend services for the sake of recommending them? Is this a “inspection” if they don’t actually look? This happens no matter who is the service advisor in the oil change department. This is not upselling services this is absolutely not needed at all. I keep am meticulous about my vehicles and keep them in like new condition. This should be evident when they raise the hood to look at it. I will gladly send a picture at any given time as to how well I keep my vehicles. This seems to be a direction from the dealership and not the advisor as every advisor does the same thing. This is far beyond up selling. This is actually stealing from the clients. The issue I have is not for my experience but it is for others. A mechanic is out in a place of trust. The client has to trust the expert to keep them safe. Imagine a single parent who does not know the mechanics of vehicles (most people do not). They trust the expert to keep them and their kids safe in the road. They naught have limited funds. They leave the dealership with added stress that they have to come up with $1500 or $2000. That causes undue stress on the client. The fear and panic for a parent trying to make ends meet that they can’t pay their bills because they went for an oil change and have to come up with thousands of dollars. This is breaking peoples trust. Please put yourself in the clients shoes for a minute and ask how you would feel if you had to choose where to spend your money. If that doesn’t scare you and cause you anxiety then there is something wrong. I don’t want an apology or a free oil change or anything like that. I would like to see this behaviour change. I totally understand upselling and suggestive selling as I am in sales as well. This is beyond suggestive selling and upselling. This is the equivalent of the people who call from “service canada” saying that I owe on my back taxes. That is my opinion! I am very disappointed that a trusted service advisor in a reputable dealership is clearly directing their staff to act in bad faith. If anyone would like to talk to me about this I will gladly express how this behaviour can be mitigated and still recommend added services. More
