Good day Thomas, My name is Roger Seegmiller, Service Manager at Courtesy. I have talked to all parties involved in this potential repair. First of all, I can certainly understand a $2000 repair this time of year or any time of year for that matter would be difficult. It is definitely not our intention to upsell any repairs that are not needed nor will ever adhere to such practice. After talking with the technician in regards to the heater core, he is 100% certain the heater core is plugged, also he did a calibration to test all blend air doors at the time of diagnosis and they all passed. I don't know when you got the repair done at this particular garage but if your testing the heat now my technician believes it would still have enough heat , especially on the drivers side as the coolant flows from the drivers and the passenger side is plugged. I do stand by our diagnosis and when it gets really cold again (hopefully it wont) I'm positive your heat will be affected again. This particular technician diagnosing your vehicle has been with the dealership for 30 years and has an overwhelming knowledge of heating and electrical repairs. I understand my Advisor has offered you a discount on this repair, and we are still happy to honor the last given quote. My sincere apologies that you feel you were taking advantage of however a phone call or perhaps showing you the plugged heater core would make you feel more comfortable. Hi Roger, Thank you for your response. I appreciate the fact that you are standing by your technicians work. I had no idea who diagnosed my Journey at the time and trust anyone who has 30 years experience is well versed in their craft. I would also like to add that April was fantastic with her customer service, and I understand that she is the middle-man between the technicians and customer. No complaints about her or her service. However, I hope you can understand my disappointment and reason for feeling the way I do after having the problem repaired elsewhere for a fraction of the original repair quoted, and only to find out it was the original problem I suspected after I was told that the actuator was working properly by your staff. It made be think just what was diagnosed by your tech, and the $150 I was charged. I also find it hard to believe that between the time your tech telling me the blend door actuator was working, and when I had it re-diagnosed 6 days later that the blend door actuator failed in between that time, when I suspected that was the problem in the first place. This, coupled with some previous concerns I've had with customer service during oil changes there, as well as similar stories from colleagues regarding Courtesy Chrysler led me to the decision to not continue with your services. There are many options in this city for repairs and automotive needs and after being left feeling like this I will be exploring them. Thank you again for your response. Tom
