I dropped by and asked Kaye if I could take a few cars for a test drive so that I could narrow down a vehicle search for when my husband arrived. Hard to get a straight answer We dropped in to dealership to look at their new vehicles, but did not have our trade-in with us. Barry was very friendly and showed us the features We dropped in to dealership to look at their new vehicles, but did not have our trade-in with us. Barry was very friendly and showed us the features of the model we were interested in, and took us for quite a lengthy test drive. His manner cooled when he learned that they would not be able to evaluate the trade-in on the spot. We provided details of the car, including VIN, and later that day emailed pictures. Barry indicated that they could likely provide a ballpark value based on this information. That's all we asked for; we did not expect a firm figure without them seeing the vehicle. In a following email Barry then stated they could not even give us a conditional number without seeing our car. I found this extremely surprising particularly when a link on your website indicates that a trade value could be done remotely. As a result, and as Courtenay is over an hour away from our home, we went to another dealership to see what they could do., Barry offered via email to sell us the new vehicle at cost, however, did not tell us what that price was. We asked several times for actual numbers (but not for the trade-in except in a ballpark number), and never got an answer. We found this process completely frustrating, and decided to purchase through the other dealership. Barry did not give us a compelling reason to come back to Courtenay Mazda. More

When it came time to sign papers I felt like uncomfortable because of sales pressure to buy additional coverage for service and warranty. I bought the warranty which is probably good but at time of closing would have enjoyed process more by paying for the car shaking hands and going home. I realize it was done the way dealers want it done but I just felt I had to keep my hand on my wallet. More

Unbelievably friendly and professional. I walked into the Mazda dealership with a cheque from ICBC and I was in a lot of pain from my recent car accident. Chantelle bent over backwards to m I walked into the Mazda dealership with a cheque from ICBC and I was in a lot of pain from my recent car accident. Chantelle bent over backwards to make my sale work for me, and it was challenging. She drove me to the bank, she called an ICBC rep in to do my insurance policy at the dealership. She was kind and worked hard in order for me to take the vehicle I wanted home with me. I am on a disability pension and had very limited resources. With some creative financial management and some support from Chantelle she made it happen. Chad was as professional as they come. This dealership has a very good reputation. I have mentioned them to everyone of my friends already and they have a 1-month return policy, which gives me ample time to decide if this vehicle is going to meet my needs, and I have many. Incidentally, everyone that I have mentioned to that the dealership was fantastic, said that they had already heard that. Keep it going Mazda. It's such a relief from the old way of doing things. The comfortable leather couches in front of the giant sized fire place was an added touch and I read while Chantelle made the purchase of my vehicle happen for me. Thanks Mazda, big thumgs up! More
