Cochrane Dodge Chrysler Jeep

Good salesperson, not pleased with service dept. Purchased 2014 Dodge Caravan and up until 30,000 km/2 years everything was fine. Service tech tried to say my brakes were "pulsating" and would requir Purchased 2014 Dodge Caravan and up until 30,000 km/2 years everything was fine. Service tech tried to say my brakes were "pulsating" and would require a $450+ repair to machine the rotors. When I questioned how this could happen, I was told "it might be the way you drive." Never felt any pulsation and why would I remove material from supposedly warped rotors rather than replacing the rotors and pads with quality aftermarket parts that came with a warranty. I've owned several new vehicles and never had to face costly brake repairs with under 30,000 km or 2 years on the vehicle. Contacted Cochrane Dodge Service Manager and Chrysler Canada with no reply from dealership and Chrysler just threw their hands up in the air. Took van to an independent mechanic who took my van for a test drive and free inspection and he found nothing wrong with the brakes, pads or rotors. Be aware of the "pulsation" in the brakes ploy and take your vehicle to a trustworthy mechanic for a 2nd opinion. Avoided unwarranted expensive repairs as well as unnecessarily removing material from my rotors. Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience despite an overall pleasant buying experience. Buyer beware. More

Both of these guys were excellent to deal with, thorough, and despite not much being around for exactly what we wanted, managed to find them both efficiently without giving up or letting us down. The technician was very friendly and fixed my concern very quickly with the exception of having to wait a day for the part to arrive. The repair was made and haven't had the issue since. More
