Now having a toddler, the need for a newer and more reliable vehicle became crystal clear when our only vehicle broke down right before the holidays, leaving us stranded at our rural home for months while we organized our finances and searched for the perfect replacement. We had a very specific list of "must have's" and we finally found what we were looking for, listed at Bannister Honda in Vernon. A 2006 Toyota Tacoma, 6 speed manual, 4x4, 4 doors (full sized) and matching canopy (topper) with average to low kilometers (180k). After requesting more information online, setting up a day/time to test drive with Tracy via email and borrowing a neighbour's truck, we headed to Vernon from Princeton area to check it out. Jason took care of us immediately and even helped us get the carseat into the back and hooked up. We immediately fell in love with the truck but were disappointed to discover that the aftermarket radio/CD/GPS was not working properly. There was also a discrepancy regarding the number of previous owners listed on the Carproof. However, after some clarification, deliberating and a bit of haggling over the price with Jason and Rob, we agreed to purchase the truck as long as the radio was fixed. By then, it was past 5pm on a Saturday, which meant we had to wait until the following week for this to be complete and for financing to be approved. Everything went smoothly on Monday and we picked up the truck on Tuesday. Again, both Jason and Rob were extremely friendly and helpful and Jason even got down and dirty putting the license plates on! While I dealt with all the nitty gritty, my husband and daughter chatted with everyone else, including Don, who was familiar with where we live and was quite personable. Although we've only had the truck for nine days, we've already traveled 1200kms and are more than pleased with it :D More
