I bought a brand new Tuscan from Aurora Hyundai and when it was time to have my first oil change at 3000 km I was told that I also needed an new air filter which was quoted at $120.00 to replace it. Having owned many new vehicles In the past, I can't remember EVER needing a new air filter so soon so I decided to not let them change the air filter. I then had my uncle , a recently retired mechanic, inspect my air filter and he said that it was like new and I was just getting the shake down from the dealership.
Eventually when it was time to change my air filter, I bought one at their parts counter for approx. $25 and my uncle replaced it for me as I watched...it literally took him less than a minute to complete the job.
How the heck does Aurora Hyundai justify their $120 cost to change a frickin air filter!?
Be careful using their service department, they try to scam everyone, and they don't bother explaining anything to their customers especially if you're a woman and assume you don't know anything about cars.
