Horrid but ultimately made things right. I had a flat tire, and there was a nail and a screw in it. Nothing to worry about, I'll take to the dealership and get it repaired properly! Wrong. I I had a flat tire, and there was a nail and a screw in it. Nothing to worry about, I'll take to the dealership and get it repaired properly! Wrong. I dropped off the tire with the puncture in it at about noon, at that point I told them I had to go and I would be back in a couple hours. At about 3:15 I had arrived to pick my my wounded tire, only to find a PLUG in it. To the best of my knowledge a plug is not a sufficient repair from a dealership, or even a shop. So I asked them why they did it, and ultimately made them patch the tire (specially when the work order stated the tire was patched) and I left, again because I had other things to do. I came back at about 4 and the technician (reese) had said he repaired it. Low and behold there was not a patch on the tire, however there was also a huge hole where the plug was originally, I was getting mad, because what kind of repair is that? Specially from the dealership! So, the service manager and someone else agreed that it was best to repatch it for a third time, using a patch/plug combo. I came back at 4:50 ish, and low and behold the tire looked to be properly patched. I then asked Reese specifically if they had to grind down to the belt this time to install the patch, in which case he replied 'Yes' and then I immediately asked to speak with the service manager again, and I asked him if that was safe, and when a new tire could be ordered, in which case the service manager asked Reese if that were true, if the threads were visible, Reese immediately said no, and then we kept going back and forth, in which I reworded the question to, if I removed the patch, would I see the steel threads under where the patch was, then Reese said that there may be some showing, he said that infront of the service manager. In which case I asked again, when can another tire be ordered, since they messed up mine and they got defensive and stated that the tire was patched and what else did I want from them. These guys don't give a xxxx about you, or your safety. They care only about the money, AVOID ABBOTSFORD VOLKSWAGEN ------- Edit as of December 2015 - 12 - 04 ------- Volkwagen has since seen the error of their ways and has agreed to remedy the situation by replacing my tire. 5 starts for actually fixing the issue.
