yler started with BMW of Des Moines (then European Motorcars) in 2006 as a salesperson and has had many hats since then. Later that year, Lithia acquired the dealership and he moved to fixed operations as a Service Advisor, eventually becoming the Service Manager and Fixed Operations Manager many years later. In 2019 he went back home to the sales department as the General Sales Manager and is now the General Manager. The culture and people at BMW of Des Moines are second to none, it truly is an enjoyable place to be each day. Tyler currently drives a BMW M440i, wife Heather drives a BMW 430i coupe, also have a 2001 BMW M Coupe in the garage.

My vehicle had an indicator light come on, called 'drive train malfunction' last year on 5/13/19. I scheduled service with BMW of Des Moines. They stated that it was caused by a repair facility that changed train malfunction' last year on 5/13/19. I scheduled service with BMW of Des Moines. They stated that it was caused by a repair facility that changed my oil a couple days prior. BMW made a repair, fast forward a couple months later the same indicator light comes on again, I returned my vehicle again.. this same thing kept happening, they kept saying it was different things each of the 8 returned visits, in which I kept paying out of pocket after my warranty was exhausted (which was $5k). EIGHT VISITS!! This time makes the 9th in which they finally brought in an engineer from their regional office, who says he figured out what the problem is.. My complaint is that they didn't repair my vehicle on the previous 8 visits, actually misdiagnosing it and taking my money every time! I exhausted my warranty on issues that weren't the underlying cause of the problem and now that they know definitively what the issue is, Tyler Weelden, service department manager is telling me I have to pay $2880 to have my vehicle repaired. It's not right! As of today, 12/30/20, they still have my vehicle. More

Be warned I would highly recommend going to another independent shop to get work done on your BMW. The service advisors here are paid on commission, which incen I would highly recommend going to another independent shop to get work done on your BMW. The service advisors here are paid on commission, which incentivizes repeat trips to the service station/dealership. I had my BMW serviced here for a water pump and thermostat- a $1700 repair. When I got the vehicle back at closing, the heater was not working. The heat was fully functional before the repair, and it needed an additional almost $500 worth of work to get the heat back. Bottom line - I would not trust this service center or any BMW service center as they pay their service advisors with commission. This could easily lead to incentivizing repeat trips for customers for problems that were manufactured in the service center. More
