Just not trustworthy I purchased a car from the local VW dealership, I could not get the same price as the STL market was advertising, but I was told I would be a cheat to I purchased a car from the local VW dealership, I could not get the same price as the STL market was advertising, but I was told I would be a cheat to purchase from STL market vs Columbia market where I live, I end up buying from there even though they did not have what I wanted, after Machens advertises they have every vehicle in stock. The big problem was the General Manager he kept pushing and pushing to get me to buy that day, and made many promises that after talking with the finical manager found out were nowhere near true. He stated that that happens a lot with this guy. The salesmen was good, and did everytthing he could to assit in a positve way. The overall experience of the dealership was very untrustworthy, and operated with no sense of integrity, I am not saying don’t buy from here, but beware of getting the big talk with no deliver from the sales dept. To add I did meet the Service Manager and she seemed very helpful and trustworthy. More

DO NOT Buy a Vehicle from these Crooks Leased a 2014 Passat earlier this year. They added a $2200 warranty into the contract without my knowledge. I didn't sign for it!! Heck, I would have never used it as I didn't even know I had it. Now my monthly payments are way higher than what they should be. People here are really rude as well. GO ELSEWHERE! Also, my Passat has a ton of issues. More

Unbelieveable!!!! First off, my husband and I had been having a rather bad day. My husband had a 2004 VW Beetle we bought from another dealership used that they did not First off, my husband and I had been having a rather bad day. My husband had a 2004 VW Beetle we bought from another dealership used that they did not disclose to us until after purchase it had been in a front in accident, but at the time we were so desperate to need a reliable car and price was right so we got it and the extended warranty. For the last 2 year this car has cost us a fortune, but we never had the money to be done with it. Last, month the car was damaged by hail and now started to act up with the engine. My husband works as a Sgt. for the prison and last night as he got to work his car died so this day started at 11pm the night before. He had to push it in to work and find a ride home at 7 am. I was at work and had to get the day off at 9 a, find babysitters for the kids, and get the insurance company whom was unwilling to pay for the tow to the dealership that we thought we had a extended warranty at. When they finally got us a truck we had to just wait 3 hours for a tow truck, that took the car to his personal shop and told us he will get a diagnoses quickly because we were heading to the dealership to replace it. If it would cost to much to fix. Well in that short drive from Fulton to Columbia and the first few moments at the dealership, we found out a few things: 1. we had no warranty to cover this car it had expired 2 months ago 2. The tow man had no intent to get it off quickly and was not the nice person we thought and 3. that our hopes that the gap insurance would cover the car if the damage was more than it's value was way off cause it had to happen from theft or damage. Stephen greeted us with such kindness and so will to work with us even with the fact that we had no car to show him and fact that it was so damages. He worked with Mike his sales manger very close to find us car in our range, but that did not over extend us. He was dead on with the features and our needs. While he was helping us, the wonderful people who had recommended Stephen to us, our old neighbors were there as well needing to down size since they had suffered a big lose in their life a year ago. This day was the day of miracle works for the both of Mike and Stephen. Being the wife I wanted to see what we could do to get rid of my car too so my husband would never stuck again and hopefully we could avoid it happening to me too. Stephen was test drive with us and our neighbors whom I did really miss, so it was by beautiful chance we saw them. I had been calling the tow drive every few hours asking if he had anything because with out an idea of repair they could not make a reliable deal for us and I appreciated the honesty. This tow drive was the hold up for the whole day he closed at 5:30 and got the car at 11 am by 5:25 and after a lot of rude hang ups from him on me for calling he finally gives us a brief diagnostics. My husband had not slept all night and still had to go back to work that night. Finally after the tow guy finally gave the brief diagnostics we found out that we owned a $5000 hunk of metal and we were getting no help to escape. The original numbers scared me cause I still had in my head we are going to have to pay to tow the dead beetle to them, pay the repair man for the diagnostics, absorb the upside down from both cars, and try to find a down payment, and our payments were increasing by at least 70 a piece a month. I told them forget me just get my husband a car and I will deal. But Mike and Stephen were not going to let us suffer. After getting our friends such wonderful help and getting them free of their extra debate now they had to deal with us. After pushing and working it they made a deal that saved us. That may sound extreme but it is true. Try got us out of the debit of both cars, out of the tow, repair, and down payment billing. I have never had such a caring and helpful dealership. I will recommend this team to anyone who thinks that all sales person are only out to rip you off I can say. Come give them a try and they will give you a new look.
