Bait and switched The beginning of October 2021 I put down a deposit and ordered a new RAV4 from Hartford Toyota. I had a full price breakdown emailed and agreed upon. They told me the car would be order down a deposit and ordered a new RAV4 from Hartford Toyota. I had a full price breakdown emailed and agreed upon. They told me the car would be ordered and arrive before Christmas. Updated in January to say my car would not arrive until mid February. Due to the delay, they informed me I was getting a 2022 instead of a 2021. I went over everything with them again, making sure none of the specs had changed, they assured me it was the exact same car at the exact same price. I patiently agreed and sat back to wait some more. The car finally arrived, and though the color was wrong, which is irritating because I literally built out the car, I agreed to take it. The salesman went over everything with me, had everything programmed etc etc. While we were going over everything the manager comes over and tells me not only am I their “longest waiting customer, but also the most patient”. They asked I update my auto insurance while waiting for the finance guy to be free, which I did as well. Finally I sit down with the finance guy and he puts the price sheet in front of me. The selling price is much higher than the agreed upon price. I immediately bring this to his attention and he agrees, says his paperwork says the number that I was stating. He calls the manager who doesn’t answer, and sends multiple texts. We’re just sitting there in silence and the manager finally texts back that “the msrp went up”. Which is so odd, since I have very clear emails discussing that the price wasn’t changing. The manager was out of the building and would not call either the salesman or the finance guy. Finally after waiting twenty minutes he texted that he would be back in “over an hour”. I was feeling taken advantage of, and clearly he didn’t care to call in, so I decided to leave instead of waiting around all day. The salesman felt so bad about the way I was being treated that not only did he drive me home but offered to forgo his commission if they would take off the $500. I waited around for a phone call that never came, and the salesman texted me a couple hours later saying that the manager had just called the next guy on the list waiting for the car and sold my car out from under me, which I not only still had a deposit on but also had left my belongings in (my power cord was still in it from the set up). Never ever got a phone call from the manager. Richard McAllister is a liar and a snake, do not trust him with your time or money! More

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at Hartford Toyota. I initially went to my local dealership, Hoffman Toyota, to inquire about a vehicle. I was left unhappy with the stale customer service and d Toyota. I initially went to my local dealership, Hoffman Toyota, to inquire about a vehicle. I was left unhappy with the stale customer service and decided to head to Hartford Toyota instead. I was happy with my initial phone call with Richard and decided it was worth popping in despite my previous experience at Hoffman. Once I got in, I was greeted by Richard and introduced to Henry who was both polite and sincere during my visit. I was able to test drive the vehicles I was interested in and discussed all other vehicles I hoped to inquire about. Richard was wonderful in terms of working with me on the financial aspect. I’m glad I was able to work with this dealership and look forward to working with them in the future. More

I wish I would have went to a different dealership, however we were very highly recommended to Hartford Toyota. We were told that we would get the best experience and after this process has concluded, however we were very highly recommended to Hartford Toyota. Our sales representative gave us the go around, the lack of communication between the sales representative and the manager involved was gave me many mixed messages and inaccurate information. The process, given during a pandemic, was more stressful than it should have been by a long shot. More

Omar Rivera was my rep for my last tow purchases and did an exemplary job with details and making sure my needs were met. The finance department is top notch and I was in and out each time in less than an hour. I could not recommend Hartford Toyota more to anyone buying a Toyota. More
