This is my first lease with Mike and Pinebelt Subaru and I can say that the experience was first rate. Mike was throughly knowledgeable with the ins and outs of the Subaru lineup and models. Unfortunately, the salesperson at Pine Belt Subaru in Lakewood, NJ, Pharnell Louis brokered a deceptive deal with me. In fact I would go so far as to say he lied by omission to my wife and I on more tha Lakewood, NJ, Pharnell Louis brokered a deceptive deal with me. In fact I would go so far as to say he lied by omission to my wife and I on more than one occasion during the three trips I made to the dealership. I negotiated an out the door price on Crosstrek, I repeated to Pharnell several times during my multiple negotiations that my final price included sales tax, and any and all fees. He repeated back to me and my wife yes. A few weeks after I purchased the car I received a phone call that my plates and registration had come in, but I owed $301.00 for them. I thought this was impossible based on the negotiated deal. The salesperson, Pharnell ignored my email, phone voicemail, and finally after I texted him, he gave me a convoluted response. I emailed him again, no response. I signed about twenty electronic documents that finance guy explained to me, and I trusted him to explain all information that I needed to know. Never once did the finance manager Stephen Chin-Hing mention additional money would be owed for plates/registration, he even issued me a piece of paper indicating we “owed nothing” and they “owed nothing.” They do not give you an written documentation that registration fees will owed on pickup of plates/reg. I had negotiated off of a TruCar Pricing that clearly indicated that motor vehicle fees were to be included and the "out the door" final price by nature of the term includes motor vehicle fees. Pine Belt did not honor the verbal terms of out the door pricing. Warning for Future Customers: Pine Belt can certainly charge for plates and registration when you pick them up. However, they are obligated during the process to verbalize to their customer that this is occurring. An extra $300 for anyone’s budget is challenging, especially if it is unexpected after laying out a large down payment on a new car. Mike More

Recently leased/purchased a new WRX from this dealership. It was the first time there. We walked in and were greeted by Pharnel one of the sales personnel. He was very nice and professional.
