I have been with Long Subaru for over half my life. The first seven of these (high school/college years) were spent doing everything and anything - cutting the grass, moving cars, cleaning cars, running to the registry, driving all over creation, etc. I have been in sales and finance ever since, and I truly enjoy helping to make the car-buying process as easy and stress-free for my customers as possible. My wife and I live in Putnam, Connecticut. We have a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix named Schmidt, and two cats. When I'm not at work I enjoy taking care of my lawn, playing golf, riding my motorcycle, and watching any and all sports. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you!

The best way to buy a car Walking into the dealership, we gave the name of the sales representative we wanted to speak with (my son had purchased here from Matt). The man who greeted us went to find Matt, and took us to the lounge to wait (very nice lounge in the service department- I will be able to use their open wi-fi to work while getting service there-- but if it's a long service, they give you a loaner vehicle so you're not trapped there!). Matt, our sales agent, asked questions, listened to what I wanted and helped narrow down my choices. He brought up examples of the cars for me to look over. He was open about pricing, never once inquiring if we were trading until we had made the decision to buy and he had already told us the price we would pay for the purchase of the new car.. The finance manager, Ray, was very detailed in his rationales for what would be worth our extra money (and what wouldn't) instead of just selling us all the bells and whistles. He asked what kind of driving I do, and figured out the potential mileage so he could answer our questions with the best personalized answers for an informed decision that was best for us. We've been to other dealerships, where the sales people try to undercut each other, and even talk disparagingly about other dealerships (that sell the same cars!). One of the last dealers we went to wouldn't even give us a "ball park" price for the vehicles we were interested in until we brought in our trade-- I mean excuse me, but what does my car have to do with the price of your car, unless some creative numbers come into play? Long Subaru was honest, no pressure and pleasant to deal with. You really feel like part of a family when you go there. If you're planning on a Subaru, it is well worth your time to investigate Long, and interact with the professional and pleasant sales team they have there. More

Very comfortable, personable, and helpful. Everyone at the dealership so far has been more than friendly and accomodating. My husband and I would definetely go back and ask for Matt Orn. Never once did we feel rushed or that he wanted to get to another customer etc. We were not sure exactly what kind of car we were going to look at so therefore had been to many dealerships. Matt Orn was the ONLY person, and only dealership that could amswer our questions and gave us a complete tour of the vehicle inside and out prior to test driving the car. Superb experience! More

A 2009 Forester was our first purchase from Long and the experience brought us back 2 years ago for a 2015 Legacy (which we are still driving). Last month we were looking for an inexpensive lease for a 2nd vehicle and Matt Orn was the sales representative who answered my initial phonecall. Matt was very accommodating to work with, was helpful and informative - but not pushy at all - and worked very hard to meet us with the terms that we needed in order to make the lease work. His followup was always as promised and he re-confirmed the reasons why Long is our "go-to" dealer! From sales to service over the past 9 years, the people at Long have never disappointed us. Love my Subarus, love my dealer!! More

Felt like family here I have purchased 2 other Subaru's from Long so I knew the type of service I would be receiving. I went on a Sunday to see what they had and went back I have purchased 2 other Subaru's from Long so I knew the type of service I would be receiving. I went on a Sunday to see what they had and went back on a Wednesday to buy it. I really wanted a silver vehicle but not with leather seats. The one they had was more expensive and had leather seats. I was willing to go with that but Kevin was honest enough to ask "Do you really want to spend thousands more just for a color." WOW, an honest salesman. He was right, so I went with the blue one. Love my Forester and hope Kevin is still working when I need to get another one. I was a walk in and Kevin had an appointment so I worked with Matt as well. He went the extra mile to finish up the paperwork without blinking an eye. They all made me feel like family. More
