He established good rapport and asked the right questions about our wants/needs and he reviewed the highlights of Mazda manufacturing. When the sales manager, Dustin came in the desk to present the offer, he asked if we were ok moving to a darker exterior. He had a 2023, that was exactly the same at that we were interested in buying, with the only difference being the color and the year 2023. Because it was a a 2023 and grey exterior, he stated there would be more negotiating room for the trade in value. We said that would be ok. Dustin repeatedly stated that the cars were the same. When Dustin presented the offer for the 2023, the price he presented was higher than the sticker list price. Dustin never brought this to our attention that the price was changed. After discovering this on our own and asking why, Dustin said the car was not registered in their inventory and when they brought it back into inventory, they raised the sticker price. We did not like the business practice that this information was never shared with us.The finance person stated that was the first he was hearing of a higher list price. When we asked to speak with Dustin, he stated he was not informed of the price being higher than the sticker price. As the buyer, I feel somehow that the increase in list price from the sticker should have been communicated by the person presenting the offer. It was not After we purchased the grey 2023, that we were told by the sales manager numerous times, the cars were the same, except color and year. The 2023 was not a premium level car and did not have the upgrades we discussed with the initial sales person. We felt there was a bait and switch lead by the sales manager. In the end we purchased a 2024 white premium car as we had discussed with the original sales person. There were some individuals that stepped up at the end, which is why we bought the car. We liked our interactions with Nickolas. More
