When it came time to talk about price, I was given a price considerably higher than I had seen on the dealer's website earlier that day. After I inquired about it, the manager acknowledged they had made "an error" and came back with the price I had seen on the website. This undermined my trust in the dealership and I let them know it. Jeff, Joe Anchondo and others worked hard to regain my trust and in the end I did purchase the vehicle. Jeff was clearly invested in making things right and I very much appreciated that. Jon Hickey was also great to work with in finance. He was extremely patient in answering my many questions, providing advice and walking me through all the details. More

Avoid this unethical dealership I suggest caution when dealing with dealership staff. The dealership has no regard for your privacy or the protections of the Fair Credit Reporting I suggest caution when dealing with dealership staff. The dealership has no regard for your privacy or the protections of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Mr. Anchondo was reasonable to work with and made a good effort to locate the car I wanted and if you must buy from this dealer I recommend him; he was advised from my first contact that this would be a cash purchase. After agreeing to a price he turned me over to Mr. Leonard, who had also heard me state several times that this was a cash purchase. Leonard demanded I complete a credit request form saying it was dealership policy and needed for the federal OFAC check. I offered the personal information for the OFAC check but refused to approve a credit check for a cash sale. I was badgered by Leonard and other dealership staff, who were also told this was a cash purhcase, for over 45 minutes to sign the credit request form; I finally agreed to put only the OFAC required information on the form, crossing out the reference that it was a request for credit check and specifically telling Leonard I was not approving a credit check. Leonard then immediately ran a credit check for $10,000, as well as the OFAC check. When I complained the sales manager on duty (who had actually run the check) apologized and told me that the dealership needed to train its sales staff better and also develop a separate form for the OFAC information. After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau the general manager contacted me, apologizing that I was upset, but also stating he was completely comfortable with the dealership protocol and that saw nothing wrong with their action. In apparent retaliation the dealership also with held the certificate of origin for 8 days preventing me from registering the vehicle. If you’re buying on credit this isn’t likely going to be a problem but if you value your privacy avoid this unethical dealership. I will never buy here again and encourage others to avoid them as well. More

But I have to say that my most recent experience in the showroom was undeniably my most rewarding one. Beaver Toyota in Santa Fe definitely made my day. Sales representative Joe Anchondo easily escapes that stereotypically stamped car guy mold we all tend to put these folks into. I found Joe to be extremely knowledgeable about cars, especially Toyotas and quite willing to share what he knows. Very helpful for me as I navigated my way through my first purchase of a hybrid vehicle. Joe, his boss, and the other employees at Beaver Santa Fe who helped me were all actually fun to work with. And Joe really went out of his way to assure that my car-buying needs were met. Plus, I think I can say with quite a bit of assurance that . . . you won't believe the deal I got. Wow! More

2 Cars in One Week!!!! We have purchased four new vehicles at Beaver over the past 10 years, two Corollas, one Tacoma, and very recently, a Rav. The service department is a complementary added benefit to purchasing a vehicle from Beaver, because their sales staff and management is also great - they keep us coming back as a happy customer. They too are very professional, but also warm, friendly and knowledgeable. They have a great selection, and negotiations are always carried out in a positive manner. I will always recommend people to Beaver Toyota and I will recommend them in particular to Joe Anchando. I thought Joe was VERY helpful and I was a tough case.
