Gary was born in Davenport,Iowa and currently resides in Moline,IL.with his wonderful wife,Dana.Gary has 2 great children,a daughter Lynn and son Craig.Gary graduated from Scott Community College in 1981 with a degree in Automotive Repair and has been in the automotive business ever since.Gary started with Zimmerman Honda in 1993 as their Service Manager and in 1995 was promoted to his current position as Parts and Service Director. I had a very pleasant experience with Zimmerman Honda in Moline, IL. Though they have serviced 3 of my past Hondas (Brent Staner), I had yet to have purchased a vehicle from Zimmerman. I had contacted Zim Moline, IL. Though they have serviced 3 of my past Hondas (Brent Staner), I had yet to have purchased a vehicle from Zimmerman. I had contacted Zimmerman a couple months ago, looking to test drive the redesigned 2013 Civic EX-L with navigation. I also expressed that I was going to sell my vehicle outright myself. Ruth Sanders and Sean Fortin totally understood my financial situation in wanting to sell my vehicle myself. I was not pressured in any sort of way to trade, etc. I was given their business cards and stopped in a couple of times, and they both knew who I was each time I visited the dealership. When I finally sold my vehicle on Aug. 31, I was in need of a vehicle. Zimmerman is within walking distance from where I live. I walked down the hill on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, 2013. I negotiated my summer 'clearance' price with Zimmerman. The exterior & interior colors that I wanted was not available locally, so the search was on to find a dealer trade. I was provided with a brand new 2013 Civic to drive until they could locate my vehicle, since I had no vehicle to drive!! I was also pre-approved for .9% financing which is the best interest rate I've ever gotten on a loan. :) My vehicle arrived from the Highland, IN, Honda dealership on Friday, Sept. 6. I had selected many options to be added by the dealership. New tires were negotiated (Gary Ralston) and installed, remote start was added after market, and body guards were installed the next morning. I was able to take possession of the vehicle on Sat, afternoon, Sept. 7. I will return in a couple of weeks to complete the paint/leather protection package, as well as the DiamonFusion windshield treatment. I spoke with the gentleman doing the detailing (Johnny) and was confident in the service that I had purchased. He explained the products they use with the process. Very impressive. My financing experience was also very positive. Ricky Unholz was very accommodating in meeting my needs as a valued customer. Very down-to-earth, professional experience. He was knowledgeable about all the products, licensing, financing, etc. That was the most efficient loan experience I have ever had at a dealership in a new car purchase!! Efficient. I would recommend Zimmerman Honda to anyone searching for a new vehicle. They will be servicing my 4th Honda, too!! :) The new dealership is impressive, the staff is friendly and accommodating (plenty of salespeople to assist you), and the service dept. is top of the line.
