Ourisman Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM

I have spent my entire adult life in the Automobile Business. For 27 Years I owned and operated Retail Service Stations and Automotive repair facilities. After selling these businesses I came to work for Ourisman Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram in Clarksville Maryland starting here in April of 1999. Working on the sales side of the business has presented a number of challenges as well as a number of rewarding experiences. I have been fortunate to have had success in both retail sales and on the commercial and fleet side of the business. I have been Masters certified by Chrysler for 15 years in both retail and commercial sales. I have also been the United Buying Service Representative for this store since 1999. I look forward to continuing to provide great customer service to my many loyal customers and to continue to grow my business.

Where to start? First, we were directed to Ourisman's Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge by our bank. We qualified for United Buyer's Service (UBS) and wanted to see if we could get the best deal for a Jeep Wrangler we were looking for. I contacted Mr. Eldridge who handled this type of buying and the initial conversation went well even though I told Mr. Eldridge that I was not a fan of the car buying experience. The conversation went well enough that I scheduled an appointment to meet with Mr. Eldridge. On the day that my wife and I were scheduled meet with Mr. Eldridge, I was informed that Eldridge was not at the facility as he was assisting with transporting "official vehicles" for the weekend's Labor Day Grand Prix race in Baltimore. That upset me somewhat as Eldridge never called to let me know he wasn't going to be there. Then, after a while, we were met by salesman Greg Dickerson (who is not part of this complaint and did an outstanding job), who tried to help us in the meantime. Dickerson stated Eldridge would be back soon and then he would help us with the UBS purchase. After 45 minutes to an hour, a group of vehicles arrived back from the Grand Prix and Dickerson stated Eldridge was in the group (after having later seen Eldridge's picture, I confirmed he was in fact back at the dealership). Yet, Eldridge never stopped by to apologize or even acknowledge mine and my wife's existence! Dickerson was able to help my wife and I find a Jeep Wrangler that met our needs and fell within a reasonable range that we wanted to spend. To make a very long story short, Dickerson took a sales contract to his boss (believe it was Mr. Haslup), Dickerson came back twice with "numbers". That angered me since this was not supposed to be a haggle situation. Then Haslup comes to my wife and I and without barely any pleasantries, states "I'm sorry we could work out a deal with you" and hands me my keys back to the vehicle we were going to trade in (which was in nearly pristine condition). At this point, I furious and we left. About an hour after leaving the dealership, my wife and I had thought about the situation and contacted Dickerson at the dealership. I told him that even though I wasn't happy with the bartering of price, I still wanted to go ahead with the vehicle since it met all the needs we wanted. Dickerson advised that was fine and asked when we would want to complete the sale. Since my wife and I were going out of town that night and would not return for two days, we told him that we would be in to the dealership in two days and would complete the deal. BTW--Dickerson knew we had the financing in place since the bank was the one who sent us to Ourisman's. An hour later, I received a text from Dickerson stating the Jeep was fueled and ready for purchase when we were to meet in two days. The next day, I receive an email from Eldridge who stated the following: Brian, "Spoke with Greg (Dickerson) this am and look forward to meeting you whhen you come in to get the Jeep. The black Jeep is here and ready to go. When will you be able to come in and finalize things"? Fred Eldridge, Sales Consultant I emailed Eldridge back and told him we would be there on Sunday to complete the sale. So, as far as my wife and I were concerned, the deal was to be completed the next day we'd be the proud owners of a new Jeep. Late Saturday night (about 9:50 pm), I received a phone call from Eldridge. Eldridge informed me that my Jeep was SOLD a few hours before and that my wife and would not need to come in on Sunday to pick the vehicle up. Needless to say, I lost it at that point! After a few unpleasantries and me telling Eldridge that he and his management staff were very unprofessional, I was told "sorry" and that was pretty much it--other than he would try to get me another vehicle, but it would take a few days! I hung up. To this date, I am still angry at the way my wife and I were treated by Ourisman. Two days after this incident occurred, I traveled to Heritage Jeep in Parkville and purchased a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. They treated my wife and I very well. In fact, they treated my wife and I so well that I returned to them recently and opened up leases for two (2) Jeep Cherokee's that my company will eventually purchase! Ourisman solidified my belief that car buying is a hassle and very unpleasant. The good news was, Heritage Jeep restored at least a little faith in the system! I am sure there are staff members at Ourisman that are very decent and will honor their word. However, I cannot say that for Mr. Eldridge and the UBS program at Ourisman and would not recommend it to anyone! Thank you, Brian Kunkel More

I returned to Ourisman after buying my 2500 Ram eight years ago from Fred Eldridge. I was very pleased when I returned and saw that Fred was still at the dealership. He is wonderful to work with, not onl years ago from Fred Eldridge. I was very pleased when I returned and saw that Fred was still at the dealership. He is wonderful to work with, not only is he extremely knowledgeable about the Ram vehicles, but he is patient and works hard to get exactly what you are looking for. I worked with Levi Haslup and Fred this time on trading in my 2500 and I was given an incredible deal. Levi then worked hard to make sure I found a new truck I loved just as much...he even let my husband and I sit in his own personal 1500 Big Horn since there were no other Big Horn's on the lot! At no point in time did I feel like I was working with 'car salesmen.' Working with Levi and Fred is like working with Friends and Family. They are not trying to 'sell' you anything you don't want or need. They are honest, patient, and extremely genuine people. Thank you guys for making this yet another awesome experience. More

We were greeted very warmly by Mr. Eldridge and treated professionally from start to finish. Mr. Eldridge shared his experiences on a variety of vehicles before we started to focus on one version, permitti professionally from start to finish. Mr. Eldridge shared his experiences on a variety of vehicles before we started to focus on one version, permitting us to think about the pros and cons of a variety of different Dodge and Chrysler minivans. With grandchildren with us in many instances , we wanted something roomy and entertaining for the young tykes as well as a smooth travelling van for longer trips. The entire process was handled in a friendly and positive manner. At the final meeting with Dina to complete the paperwork I was pleased to learn she and I had many things in common, and her very professional, yet friendly approach made this endeavor a great conclusion to a totally smooth process. My hat is off to Ourisman for their staff and salespeople. Although it is was my first purchase at Ourisman, I won't hesitate recommending others to pay your establishment a visit.Thank you again! Fred was very helpful when I came in to talk about purchasing a new car. I knew what I wanted going in but he explained all of my options and did not try to talk me into buyin anything that I wasn't i purchasing a new car. I knew what I wanted going in but he explained all of my options and did not try to talk me into buyin anything that I wasn't interested in. Once I purchase the vehicle Fred explained how to remove the top and put it back on and even offered to show me again once the weather gets nicer and I am ready to do that. At first I thought Dina was going to try to talk me into purchasing a warranty that I did not want or need but she turned out to be helpful and worked with me to get an additional warranty that was still in my price range. Overall I had a great experience at the dearlership. I just wish I lived closer to it so I could swing by for car washes. More
