Bait and Switch In January I sent my truck in by tow to have an exploded battery replaced. I spoke with Erik Buikema and he told me the price was $179 for the battery In January I sent my truck in by tow to have an exploded battery replaced. I spoke with Erik Buikema and he told me the price was $179 for the battery. He then told me I would need front brakes which were quoted as $229 plus tax. I told him I would come back later for the brakes. The next day I picked up my truck, during twilight, and brought it home. The next day in the sunshine, I noticed scratches across the hood. I noticed the driver's side front headlight was cracked. I called immediately. I was told there was no staff available for me to talk to due to the extreme cold temperatures. I was told to call back in a few days which I did. I spoke with Erik who told me to bring it in and they would look at it. I complied. Erik and another employee looked at it and told me didn't know what caused it. At that time I requested they buff the scratches out. They told me they would try and the project was handed off to Jesse. Jesse told me he couldn't do it that day but told me to bring it back in a few days. I complied. He called me once the work was done. When I saw the car, it was shining like brand new money with the exception of a scratch along the driver side tire. I told Erik they missed one but I wasn't going to worry about it. I took it home. I couple of rains and a few snows later and the scratches were there. They only covered the scratches with wax. Against my better judgement I went back to them for the brake work I needed done. On Tuesday, 4/23 I called Erik about 11:30 to make the brake appointment, He offered to do the work that day and told me 1 pm was fine. I complied. He completed the paperwork. It started as $229 plus tax and after tax was $260. He offered me a ride home at 1 pm but I declined. I had my own ride. I left at 1:55 pm. I came back around 2:15 pm. I notice my truck was sitting up and no one was working on the truck. There were no front tired on it. About 3:25 pm, I asked an employee to ask the mechanic how much longer it would before I could go. He left and came back about 5 minuted later. He told me couldn't find the gentleman and he was likely in the rest room. About 3:36 pm Erik called me, I was still in the building, and I asked him if he was at his desk. He said he was and I went to him. He told me the mechanic had been fighting with the rotors and trying to file them down all afternoon and was unable to save them. I asked if he put the brakes on without them what would happen. He told me the truck would be wobbley. I told him I want the truck done right and to go ahead and put the rotors on along with the brakes. He the told me the rotors would be $85 each per wheel. So $260 + $85 + $85 = $430. I told him this was fine. I was then told it could be done but not today. I was told I could pick up my truck tomorrow. I agreed. I was then offered a ride home which I accepted. This was big inconvenience as I had plans for the evening but I complied. The next morning Erik called me around 7:55 am and told me my truck was ready. I asked him the total and he told it was $462. I asked him about the charges. He told me the rotors were $89 something each. I asked him if I was paying extra for labor and I was told no. He then offered me a ride which I accepted. I told him I would be ready around 8:45 am. About 8:30 am I received a message requesting a call when I was ready. I called around 8:36 am but no one answered. I then called Erik at 8:37 am and told him I received a call but couldn't return it. He hooked me up with proper department. I gave them my information and was told the gentleman would be here in about 10 minutes. I proceeding to stand in my patio window. About 15 minutes later, I black Lincoln town car pulled up. This was confusing to me as I associate this model of car with my neighbor who's often seen in this car. This driver sat there for 5-6 minutes. I then went out and asked if he was looking for me. He said yes. I asked him why he didn't call and he told me I told you I was on my way. I am not sure where any of this is appropriate but what I would like to know is how can a professional mechanic start off quoting a price on brakes alone just to come back later and say now you need rotors. How can a professional mechanic take hours to realize the rotors could not be saved when I didn't ask them to be saved? The price changes are unnerving. I will no longer be doing business with Sutton Ford as I have lost all trust in the company. More

Dissapointing I took my car in not knowing if the car will be able to be fixed under my extended warranty, when I found out it wasn't still had to pay $155.00 for t I took my car in not knowing if the car will be able to be fixed under my extended warranty, when I found out it wasn't still had to pay $155.00 for the diagnostic. The service department is a RIP OFF. Erick Buikema to me was not friendly tried to send me to another department when I was suppose to have an appointment with him, then another employee explained to me what was going on with my car which I appreciated and the other employee explained to me how my appointment was not even in the schedule which I appreciated as well. I will NEVER work with Erick Buikema again and hopefully my car will not have any more problems or I will be charged regardless even tho I PAY EVERY MONTH FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY!! More
