Overall very positive experience My wife and I spend a lot of time on the road for work and had decided to shop around for a hybrid to replace our gas guzzling but hellaciously fun Mu My wife and I spend a lot of time on the road for work and had decided to shop around for a hybrid to replace our gas guzzling but hellaciously fun Mustang. After being unimpressed with product offerings from Toyota and Hyundai in terms of comfort and mileage, we both decided to check out the Ford Fusion Hybrid. When we arrived at Shakers we found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating, however, we were a little shocked initially that there were so few available cars to choose from. What we didn't realize was that their new inventory, which in actuality was one of the largest selections in the area, was stored about 2 miles down the road. Shakers and Catherine take a no-hassle approach to the process. You won't be held captive by high pressure salespeople the way you are at some dealerships. In fact, they offered for us to take the car on an extended test drive the following day and we ended up working out the remainder of the deal over the cars built in blue-tooth during a mobile call. Based on our experience with the staff and dealership so far we can say that we are very satisfied and will likely return for service there as well. (which is rare for us). We really love the car we bought, which was an SE with Leather and My Ford Touch/Sync. I'd also like to add that after 500 miles and despite Litchfield Counties hilly terrain, we are averaging 44 mpg with our 2014 Fusion Hybrid. More

Bad Sales Experience On Tuesday April 8th Shakers Family Ford called us and told us that they could probably work a deal with us to get us into a new Escape for no money d On Tuesday April 8th Shakers Family Ford called us and told us that they could probably work a deal with us to get us into a new Escape for no money down and possibly lower our monthly payments on our 2005 Ford Escape which we have no payments on. We finished paying our 2005 Ford Escape off 3 years ago. I called back and told them would they be interested in a Mazda CX7 Grand Touring Sport car to look at as a trade in. The gentlemen I spoke with was Jim Shovo. He said sure bring it by. When we arrived after being told to ask for Jim we were immediately taken to the desk of a sales person by the name of James Cianciolo. The car was appraised by Cory Shaker and he commented that he loved the brand new tires that we just had put on the car. We told him of the few different cars we were interested in if the Escape didn't look like it would work out. He then showed us a 2013 Ford Fusion that was on the sales floor. He let Dennis and myself sit inside and look at all of the cars features. He then told us that we may have to put down some money (up to $10000) down to keep the payments lower. He then took a $200 deposit on the Fusion that was shown to us. He said that if we didn't hear from him by Thursday then to get back in touch with him on Thursday. He told us it would take that long to get approval. Thursday morning he called my home while I was out and said for me to call back that the approval went through but there were some stipulations. He said he'de be in a meeting from 10 am to 11 am. I called James back a few different times with no answer back. Dennis finally called again at 1 pm and was told to talk to another gentlemen named Manny. Manny Pinto is the financial credit person. Manny told Dennis we had two options. Option 1 was to put 5,000 down and we could get out of the Mazda and into a 2014 Ford Fusion. Second option was we were approved for the 2014 Ford Fusion with now trade in. Dennis asked what happened to the 2013 ford Fusion that we were shown and put a deposit on. Dennis was told by Manny that it was sold yesterday. Dennis talked to me about it and I said no deal. I was steaming mad at this point and left a particularly nasty message on James Cianciolo Answering machine. I also asked that if he knew that in the state of CT that bait and switch is against the law? I then stated that I wanted my deposit back or I was going to call the Better Business Bureau. Dennis and I stopped by a little later and we met with James and he told us he had no idea this even happened. He was off on Wenesday. We were told that the 2013 Ford Fusion was sold yesterday by a woman sales person. We were there two years ago trying to trade the Mazda in and Kathy Reed told us to come back in two years that we could get a deal then. We did eventually get our deposit back. For years this dealership has been trying to get me to trade in my 2005 Ford Escape because I lovingly took good care of it. Now it borders harassment. When we left we basically asked is this how you treat all of your long time customers? We've been buying cars from there for over 20 years and my in laws bought cars from there even before we started buying cars there. We then told him we won't be back and I'm also finding somewhere else to do the rest of my services on my 2005 Ford Escape. this car dealership are a bunch of xxxxxxxx just like the rest of them.
