My paperwork w Brian worked the numbers on a vehicle I liked and sent me an agreement. The agreement included a nice discount off purchase price. My paperwork was sent over to finance and I was provided financing information with the discount included. I sent in a deposit to hold the vehicle until I was able to make the drive there to see it. I drove almost 5 hours and when I showed up the vehicle was exactly as I expected. This is where it all goes downhill quickly. When we sat down to go through the numbers, I was informed they would not honor the discount I was provided. They stated it was an error on their part. Regardless of that, they were VERY clear it would not be honored. It felt a lot like a "bait and switch" tactic. After some spirited back and forth, they said the would be willing to apply a much smaller discount. Still not happy at all, I asked to speak with the GM. The GM was in a meeting and instead I was able to speak with one of the owners (Brad Lenz). From the get go, Brad made it very clear he was not going to honor the original discount and seemed to be trying to place a big portion of the blame on me. Even going so far as to tell me I needed to sit through recorded phone calls with sales to determine who's fault this was. It felt very much like Brad was trying to find a reason to blame me. Ultimately, I had documentation which showed I was offered the discount. Throughout the entire process of dealing with Brad Lenz, he refused to honor the agreement. He called me by the wrong first name multiple times. I corrected him each time and he would just blow it off. His customer service skills were very poor, he very obviously had no concerns with pleasing the customer, and he was borderline rude and very aloof. He stuck by the offer of a MUCH smaller discount and then offered a bit more of a "discount" if I would purchase a vehicle protection plan (which would only cost me more). I felt like they knew they had me in a tough spot as I had driven almost 5 hours to get there. I asked to sit with the finance manager (Dave) to see if we could somehow come to an agreement. Though not optimistic, I felt I had to try. Brad left very quickly after that. Never an apology from him on behalf of his dealership. Even after I ended up purchasing the vehicle he still never followed up to either apologize or thank me for being patient and understanding with them. I should note, Dave Gromowski (from Finance) was fantastic to deal with. He was very understanding and apologetic to the situation I was put in by the dealership. He worked some of his finance magic; giving us a bit more of a discount, buying down our rate a bit, and bringing a couple of other options into play that ultimately got us to a point where we could pull the trigger. Though nowhere near the initial agreement, I could at least stomach the result and didn't waste an entire full day trip. In the end, Brian P. (Sales) did thank us and apologized for what he admitted was his mistake. I'd give Brian 2-3 stars as he was very communicative and detailed through the entire process. However, ultimately it was his mistake that caused the entire problem. I'd give Brad Lenz (Owner) 0-1 stars. Rude, unconcerned, not sympathetic to the situation, and unprofessional. I'd give Dave Gromowski (Finance) 4-5 stars. I truly feel he did everything he could to help rectify the situation. He was understanding and seemed genuinely sympathetic to our situation and was willing to step in and help. If anyone is considering buying from Lenz, my advice, be cautious, stay clear of dealing with Brad Lenz and be sure to confirm everything before making a trip there. Not sure if I ever purchase from there again, but if I do, I WILL NOT be dealing with Brad Lenz. More

I began my search for a new truck at the beginning of March 2023. Specifically, I was interesting in purchasing a Ford F-350/450 dally crew cab to tow an RV i have on order. I went to a Ford Dealer and put a down payment on a new 350 Lariat. Unfortunately, Ford was unable to provide an estimated manufacture date to the Ford Dealer. The best they could offer was an indefinite wait for something to happen. I went to a Ford Dealer in Huntley, IL who carried a fairly wide offering of trucks, but they honestly did not seem to be interested in selling me anything. They would not respond to emails or to voice mail messages. So I widened my field of search. (I live in the western suburbs of Chicago). The nearest seller of a wide assortment of trucks, I discovered, was in Fond du Lac, WI: Lenz Trucks. I called them up about a truck I saw online and talked to Brian Pahnke. He was extremely responsive. He answered my questions and was extremely quick to respond to voice mail inquiries. I provided information on my trade in and they came back with an offer, sight unseen, The offer was 3k lower than the KBB trade in value and I countered with splitting the difference. They responded with 1k more. Inasmuch as that was an acceptable counter offer, I agreed. I made the appointment to drive out to Fond du Lac. When I arrived, the truck was already out front. I took it for a test drive. They did the same for my car. 20 minutes later, I was in the finance managers office signing the documents and the vehicle was mine. They did a great job explaining how vehicle sales are handled in WIsconsin. I turned over my title, they gave me the keys, and I was gone within an hour of arriving. This truck was the 18th vehicle I have purchased, and certainly falls in the top 5 purchases with regard to ease of purchase and cooperation of the those involved in the sale. I highly recommend Lenz. Dave E, More
