My wife and I had narrowed our search for a vehicle down to two. A Honda Civic, as we have an Accord and really like it, and the Elantra, as my son has one and really likes it. We went to Earnhardt Hyunda to two. A Honda Civic, as we have an Accord and really like it, and the Elantra, as my son has one and really likes it. We went to Earnhardt Hyundai to look at the Elantra. James, a very personable salesman, met us and asked some really important questions, such as how do we intend to use this vehicle. Will it be big enough to suite our needs, etc. etc.. He was very polite and we joked about our 53 years of marrige, as he is thinking of marriage soon. When we saw the Elantra limited, we both exclaimed, Wow! what a snazzy looking car. James took the time to go over all the ins and outs of the car. As we started getting into the nitty gritty of purchasing, Bob, the sales manager came over and we did what everyone does, bantered back and forth over the price, until we reached a satisfied price and purchased our Elantra. It did not take long for this dealership to respond to my review - less than 2 hours, which is impressive. After speaking with the general manager, the dealership is making an effort to resolve my complaints review - less than 2 hours, which is impressive. If everything is resolved accordingly, I will upgrade my review and feel better about recommending this dealership in the future. Updates: 1. PAYMENT: Another miscommunication - resolved to my satisfaction 2. ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Name and address are now correct, but it is not evident where this error happened or how. All of the paperwork at the dealership had the correct information. The ball was dropped somewhere between the paperwork leaving the dealership and making it to Hyundai Finance. It is correct now, so the issue is resolved, though I am still unsure of how the error ever occurred. 3. SERVICE: appointment is scheduled, will update if a resolution is reached 4. SALES: I still stand by the overall customer experience I had, which was excellent, friendly, and professional. I am not aware of any fault on the "sales" side for the issues I have encountered. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I feel compelled to update this review based on my experience over the first month and a half of ownership. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone,but especially not to a first time car buyer. I do not know quite where to begin, but here are the biggest issues I have experienced since purchasing my vehicle: 1. PAYMENT - The biggest, and most important. I was told explicitly that my first payment would not be due for 45 days. I have received no information regarding payment up to this point, and I called the dealership with no return phone call, so I took it upon myself to look up what was owed on the car and when my first payment was due via the Hyundai Motor Finance website. Well, the first payment was due 21 days ago - I received no statement and no information regarding a payment (which as already stated, I did not expect to be due until April), and the second one is due next week! So, I called the corporate office, and this leads me to my second problem with this dealership... 2. ATTENTION TO DETAIL- Why? They spelled my name wrong when the car was registered with Hyundai; they put my address from a year ago when my correct address was clearly on my license, they put an incorrect phone number, and they did not send the terms of my agreement to HMF- when pressed for detail about what makes up the payment, there was no information available. I have not received any written communication from the dealership or from HMF about payments that were due, which could be explained by the fact that they pulled an old address from 10 months ago, but I am still having my mail forwarded, so I am not going to give them any allowance for not even sending me a statement now for two payments. 3. SERVICE - The service team is professional and friendly, but they told me I was crazy (in a nice way) because I have now complained to them twice about the bluetooth function in my car not working. Calls get dropped on the bluetooth repeatedly, but the call is still active on my phone. I even took my phone to Apple to get it replaced, and the bluetooth still fails on me repeatedly. But, since they could not figure out what causes the drops, they were unable to fix it. This is a brand new, 2013 model - the car has less than 1000 miles on it, but I am the one that is crazy and its the phone's fault, not theirs. The car also had a vile burning smell for the first two weeks I drove it, but I was told this could not have been the case, nothing burning in the car. OK...I said there is a problem, they say there is no problem. Not sure how to handle that. 4. SALES - The sales team is VERY good at what they do: eloquent, friendly, accommodating, but they do not have your best interest in mind. I am an engineer for a software company, I am certainly not a stupid person, so I am well aware that they have to make money. But the "miscommunications" are so rampant at this point, I do feel I have been taken advantage of- or at least misdirected. I will never purchase a Hyundai again, but more importantly, I would NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone in the Valley...they are professional and friendly, but more than anything they are deceitful and have no mind for detail, only to move cars off their lot. I am positively furious about the treatment I have received thus far. I cant wait to put this whole negative experience behind me. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: I purchased my first car from this dealership In February, and I am positively thrilled with the shopping experience I had. As a first time buyer, I was apprehensive, and deeply concerned about feeling taken advantage of. I did considerable research so I would know exactly what car I wanted and chose Earnhardt based on the rave reviews I read online about their excellence in customer service. The internet reviewers did not disappoint! By the time I left, I felt like a part of the family. Bill, Bob, and Ian were spectacular to work with, and made every effort to make sure I was comfortable with my choice and that I was getting the best deal for my money. I would never think of going anywhere else to purchase a car in Arizona! It was a pleasure to work with this team, and I would do it again and again. More

I WAS EXTREMELY PLEASED WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP. HAVING BEEN IN COMMUNICATION WITH CARL HE WAS WAITING WITH THE CAR THAT WAS BEING DISCUSSED FOR MY PURCHASE. EVERYONE HE INTRODUCED ME TO, JIMMY AN HAVING BEEN IN COMMUNICATION WITH CARL HE WAS WAITING WITH THE CAR THAT WAS BEING DISCUSSED FOR MY PURCHASE. I want to thank Ric Anderson, Bob Paulson, and Alex Massenti at Discover Hyundai for making my vehicle puchase such a good experience. The friendliness of Bob when I first approcahed the dealership was extended by Ric who then helped me find a vehicle that fit my needa and budget. They were not only very helpful, but very customer oriented and professional... but not stuffy which helped me feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire process. Alex is finance is also great. He even found me a lower interest rate the following week. Hyundai should be proud and impressed to have employees as awesome as these 3 guys. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone that I know that is shopping for a car. Thanks to the 3 of them, my car buying experience was very pleasant! More

Syed Zaidi, who proved to be extremely knowledgeable about the car that I wanted to buy. I was at the dealership 45 minutes before they opened, and he was the first one to walk out on the lot and meet me. I was very impressed by his professionalism and how accommodating he was. This leads me to the next individual who contributed to the overall “why” I was so impressed by Discover Hyundai: Sales Manager, Bob Paulson. His sincerity in clearly explaining the sales process gave me great confidence that I was making the right decision in purchasing this car from Discover Hyundai. I had previously visited several other dealerships, without a specific car (or brand) in mind, and in each case, was frustrated and disappointed by these experiences. What a dramatic and refreshing change Discover Hyundai was! Bob’s character and honesty were clearly evident from the moment I sat down with him. Also key to my positive opinion of this dealership was the F&I Director, Brad Johnson, who diligently worked to come up with a financial package I felt comfortable with. He was very patient, and I never felt pressured to buy something I didn’t want or need. I found him to be of extremely high character and ethics. This was an overall great experience! More

WOW ! Discover Hyundai, kudos to you! You know how to make car buying a pleasure! Went to "just look" Friday night (01.14.11) and ended up finding a car. I was working with Mike Smith and Bob Paulson. make car buying a pleasure! Went to "just look" Friday night (01.14.11) and ended up finding a car. I was working with Mike Smith and Bob Paulson. They were both very personable, non pressuring and accommodating with all my questions, concerns and requests. I knew at that moment that this was the dealership I wanted to give my business to. The car I wanted to purchase was not on their lot so after them searching around town they had my car personally delivered to their dealership, while I waited. I really want to express that while I waited for my car to arrive, they gave this same welcoming to every customer that came through their doors, whether purchasing or not! They even drove me to my home so I could pick my car up that I was going to trade in. I was introduced, and I thank Kellie McClure in Customer Relations, Tim Hodder in Service and worked with Jeff Jerde in financing. I also worked with Ric Anderson and Bradley Johnson, whom I can't thank enough for their time and efforts also. Mike, Bob and the entire family at Discover Hyundai made it a very comfortable process to buy my car. I would recommend this dealership to anyone that wants to experience what it really should be like when your searching for a car! More
