We purchased our previous vehicle at Carter Burnaby. I had not planned on purchasing the Truck I went to North Van to look at, but after dealing with our salesman Laurence, I was swayed to buy it there. He showed us everything about the truck we could ever want to know about. The young guy at the Burnaby location had no idea what he was selling.
And the atmosphere, showroom and offices in North Van are so much more open and enviting. No hallways and hidden offices. The Boss, Yuri, was right there in plain sight and available anytime we needed him.
Heather in finance was extremely friendly and helpful, and knew everthing as well.

Last week I got a stone chip on the passenger side of my vehicle's windshield . I went to a Glass Express shop in Richmond and was given sub par counter service and an appointment a week later. The next day I phoned Dueck Richmond and was invited to come in soon. On arriving, I was greeted by Jonas Prasad the service consultant who said, it was he that I spoken to on the phone and that he could have his Technician check the window right away. Mr Prasad was very professional, spent a long time on the phone to transfer my Claim file from the first shop with ICBC. The Technician worked on the glass chip and restored it almost to its original condition. I was offered a car wash if I was willing to wait; which I was happy to. Thank you!

It was last year in April, when I decided to purchase brand new vehicle from Carter GM in Burnaby.
Was lucky to be able to deal with Dave Palermo as staff member from sales department.
He was VERY helpful and forthcoming in all aspects of the deal, he also went out of his way to get me vehicle I was looking for.
When attending recently the service department from Carter GM for battery problem, was able to deal with service advisor Steve Angelis, very helpful and professional person; was kept fully informed about progress of entire service on my vehicle.
My vehicle was serviced not only to my full satisfaction, I also we received technical information how to maintain my vehicle as the driver.

Our initial experience with Preston was not the best. We were dealing with Salesman Bob Noble and found he didn't know anything about the trucks we were looking into, yet tried to sound like he did and was very pushy about it. We ended up purchasing from another dealership, but because we live in Langley, Preston is more practical. That's when we met Tandice. She is extremely polite, always makes sure we are happy when we leave. Absolutely amazing customer service! She follows up quickly, with the appropriate information and didn't try to upsell us on anything. I would recommend Preston based on our experience with Tandice alone, as well as the mechanic and parts team.

I have been waiting for a second set of keys in the mail along with touch up paint for over 3 weeks. I still haven't received it!!! Before paying for the car I was told that I would get a good deal on heated seats and rubber Mat. After payment went through I was told they could not help me out at all with this. When the sales rep gave me temporary cheap rubber mat that did not fit properly, I mentioned this to him and he threatened to take them away in exchange for card board.

Sebastian Wosztal is the WORST service manager I've dealt with in almost 40 years of purchasing GM vehicles. Has an snarky attitude and comes across like he owns the place or GM! Talks down to you and flat out refuses to perform any warranty work including checking the brakes as I experienced almost complete brake failure on 4 separate occasions on my 2016 Camaro SS I purchased new at Barnes North Surrey! He told me to "come pick up my car as they would be performing no warranty work on it not even safety related as in the brake failure and to take it elsewhere. Would not even do the included no charge oil change. Upon delivery there were commitments made to me by the general manager but Sebastion said outright no to them. That's when I had to ask him who he thinks he is and I guess he's not used to customers standing up to him and he took offense, lol. The general manager will not return calls and Greg Barnes will not return calls to discuss it. so save yourself some stress I suggest not to deal with Barnes period. Stay tuned as this is not going away, I've been contacted by the media already and have told this story to a consumer reporter and the feedback is not good for Barnes. No libel just the facts and truth.

Took my truck in for service on a Saturday so I wouldn't have to get a rental to cover my work week. They found an issue, that's fine, told me it would be ready guaranteed 100% Tuesday.
It is now Wednesday and they still have not finished fixing my truck, parts were a day late and then the technician apparently didn't have time to get onto my vehicle, even though they knew it costs me 150 bucks a day for a rental.
Very nice to know that when they absolutely guarantee something they don't mean it at all.

The Wednesday before the Canada Day long weekend, our truck broke down on Highway 1 just outside of Hope on the first day of our two week camping trip (we had our trailer hitched up to the truck). We had had the truck serviced in Victoria before we left, so it was a surprise when the check engine light came on and the transmission started acting odd. After we stopped to check what was wrong (at the commercial vehicle weigh station) we were unable to get the truck in gear again. We called Gardner Chevrolet thinking we were lucky we were so close to a town with a Chev dealer.
We then called Hope Towing to get us to the dealer. Pete was great and was able to put the truck on the flatbed and hitch up the trailer to take with us. Victor on the Gardner service desk suggested that we could drop our trailer behind their shop while they looked at the truck, so this is what we decided to do (even though Pete suggested dropping the trailer off first at a campground down the street). We were encouraged by Victor’s suggestion and thought we’d be back on our way later that day (or that they would at least be able to read the code so we would know what the problem was).
When we finally got to the dealer (around 1pm), I made a remark that this wasn’t the greatest start to our holiday. Victor just snidely replied “You’re not the only ones here”. He then asked if we’d like him to call the campground for us – without even mentioning when they’d be able to get to look at our truck. We then had to get Pete to re-hitch up our trailer and tow it to the campground (at a cost of an additional $80!) – especially frustrating as we could have had him drop it on the way to the dealer and the extended warranty would have picked up the cost.
We waited all day for Victor or someone from the Service department to call us and at least let us know what the problem might be (at this point we weren’t sure if it was our transmission or just an electronic component). We even stopped by an hour or so later to pick up something we had forgot in the truck and were only greeted with a seemingly spiteful “How’s the camping?” remark. (Especially galling as we had reservations with our daughter and her husband to be camping outside Osoyoos and were then supposed to be heading for a family reunion the next day in Cranbrook.) No news on the truck or when/if they would be able to look at it.
We spent a sleepless night wondering how we were going to get moving again and if we would get to our family reunion on the Canada Day weekend. The campground we were in (and likely every campground in the province) was completely booked for that weekend and we had no way to move our trailer anyway. We phoned the Service department as soon as they opened the next morning and had to leave a message as they were too busy to come to the phone. When they still hadn’t called back an hour later, we tried again. This time they told us “It’s all fixed.”. While this was good news, it would have been nice if they could have looked at it/fixed it the day before (especially as they only had to change out the transmission control module – which took a very short time in the end). Overall, the worst service I have ever received at a car dealer and a thoroughly horrible experience.

I've had two bad experiences at this dealership. The first when they quoted me a price on a vehicle where I believe they deliberately excluded the GST amount on a quoted printed price. Only a week after a told them "No" did they call back to offer me the price they originally asked.
The second incident was when they agreed to fix one of my vehicles covered under warranty from another vehicle make. They assured me from day one that everything would be covered and made no mention I would have to pay anything out of pocket. After a month, they finally fixed the vehicle then gave me a $1500 bill because, according to them, they didn't have the right tools to replace the part. They should've called me before-hand to inform me it would cost out of pocket before completing work on the vehicle but they didn't. What kind of dealership tells you the price of a job after they completed the work!!!???
