Hi Wendy, We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. We understand that the car you wanted to see was sold minutes before you arrived and there was nothing we could do about it. We are a high volume dealership and no systems have been built in the industry to help immediately notify sales people when a vehicle is sold by another representative during the same day. With over 25 sales representative and over 800 vehicles on the lot, you could imagine how impossible it would be for the representatives to know and notify every interested customer, right after a sale has taken place. We understand that no amount of explanation can undo what has been done and again we do sincerely apologize for not being able to hold that particular vehicle for you. Hi there, Let us start by saying that we are shocked by your fabrication of stories on this matter. We took a good look in to this matter and spoke to everyone involved. We hope that consumers read this and see how we cannot please everyone no matter how hard we try. So here are the facts, you called the sales rep and informed her that you want to buy the vehicle and that you “already are in the flight and ready to fly” from Newfoundland to Toronto to see and purchase this vehicle that your brother had checked/ approved for you two days prior. You did not call to book an appointment, neither did you put a deposit on the vehicle, you just informed us that you would be purchasing the car. We had another customer for the vehicle but since you were already on your way, we didn’t sell the car and held it for you without a deposit, which is more than any other dealership would do, just to accommodate you! It is important to note that at this point, you were fully aware of the damage reported in the Carproof vehicle history report we provide and your brother had checked the vehicle to make sure that it was in good condition. This was once again confirmed with you by the Sale Manager prior to your departure. Once you were in Toronto, our sales rep picked you up from your hotel room ( again a courtesy to accommodate you coming from far) and drove you to the dealership. You checked the vehicle and once again were notified about the previous damage and you okayed it before proceeding to purchase the vehicle, signed the bill of sale that again included the damage report (you have signed once again right beside that fact), left a deposit and were notified that at that point the sale would be finalized and the vehicle is going to be prepared for your pickup. You could have asked for an inspection during this entire process and we would have gladly allowed that, but you wanted the vehicle and you trusted in your brother’s inspection. The vehicle was then prepped for delivery, finished the re-safety checks, emission tested, fully detailed it and also had it licensed (temporary licensing still has a cost associated with it via ministry of transportation in any province). These processes have costs associated with them. Then the sales person AGAIN, came and picked you up from your hotel to bring you in store for your new vehicle pickup, and that is when you notified the representative that you wanted to take it to an Audi dealership to have it inspected to see if you want to take the vehicle or not. Simply put, the vehicle was fully sold to you and was under your name at this point and you knew fully well about the history of the vehicle. You were told that we cannot accommodate what you are asking “ which is to take it for an inspection by another company after everything is already done. This was unacceptable to us since the vehicle was already licensed and under your name and everyone had gone above and beyond in accommodating you. You could have inspected the vehicle before you signed the bill of sale or putting down the deposit or flying down and we wouldn’t have a single problem with that, but you suddenly choose to do it after everything was already done and wanted cancelation after driving it away. A bill of sale is a binding and final agreement, and by law we didn’t have to cancel the deal as we had done everything correctly. Even after all of that, we canceled the deal as per your request, and charged you NOT your full deposit (which is what most dealerships would charge at that point), but only the costs that were accumulated for delivering the vehicle to you (at cost, and without markup), and even this was something you were told before you chose to cancel the deal. We understand that you traveled a long distance to purchase this vehicle and we did everything we can to accommodate you as we do with all our customers who come from far and wide, but certain things are against the policy and create liability issues, and we could not accept your request. It is unethical however to blame us on a review site with untruthful comments and not include the facts as they were, just to make a point. Best of regards, Your friends at Northyork Chrysler
