I recently visited West End Kia in Edmonton and left very disappointed with the experience. I was interested in a vehicle based on the advertised lease pricing, but was then told that I had to purchase a disappointed with the experience. I was interested in a vehicle based on the advertised lease pricing, but was then told that I had to purchase a mandatory "Winter Package" for $2,999, plus a dealer administration fee of $999 on top of the advertised price. I was told these charges were non-negotiable and that every dealership requires customers to purchase a winter package. What concerned me most was the lack of transparency. When I asked for a detailed breakdown of what was included in the $2,999 Winter Package and how the pricing was calculated, no one was willing or able to provide one. As a customer, I believe I should be able to understand exactly what I am paying for. I was completely open to paying for reasonable installed items such as a block heater, mud flaps, wheel locks, an engine blanket, or a full tank of fuel. However, based on the information provided, it was difficult to understand how those items could justify a $2,999 charge without any itemized explanation. The entire interaction left me feeling pressured rather than informed, and it did not reflect the transparent buying experience I was expecting. One final observation: several sales representatives began the conversation by asking, "What would you like to accomplish today?" Perhaps management should ask the same question internally: "What did we accomplish for the customer today?" A focus on transparency and customer trust would go a long way. More
I had a very disappointing experience at Kia West Edmonton with the finance department and management. After that, I requested copies of all the documents I signed, including the finance agreement and bill of sale, but I still have not received them even after emailing the dealership. Yesterday I also went with a friend to discuss the situation, and the interaction with the manager Dimetre was very disappointing. The way he spoke was unprofessional and not respectful. Instead of calmly explaining the situation or helping us understand the documents, the conversation felt dismissive and focused only on closing the deal. When customers sign financial agreements, they deserve transparency, clear explanations, and copies of their paperwork. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that level of professionalism. I hope the dealership management improves customer service and communication so other customers do not face the same experience. More
