Service desk was awesome . Mechanic was poor. Without going into too muc **UPDATE** Within 15mins of posting this review, the service manager contacted me in an attempt to rectify the situation. Without going into too much detail, he succeeded. Although my experience during my visit wasn't satisfying, the service and understanding that I received from Scott can only be described as "above and beyond". Up until he contacted me, I would've likely not taken my business back to Elgin Chrysler, but he turned it around and I will no longer be hesitant to take my vehicle back there again. P.S. He took the time to deal with this at 10pm on a Saturday. -----‐-------------------------------------------------------------- **ORIGINAL POST** The last time I had a weird issue with my van, I took it here and they were able to fix it easily and economically. Since then, that van was written off and we purchased another Grand Caravan. We started having an odd issue with it, so decided to take it there straight away since they did a good job last time. Apparently this was not the thing to do. They were unable to recreate the problem (which happened later that day I may add), and instead recommended about $2000 worth of maintenance. Since the mechanic was unable to find the issue, I went to my backup, Google. Upon Googling the issue, I not only found that this was a common issue with this year of vehicle, but I also found a solution that would only cost $120 and about 5 mins to install. To add to the frustration, this issue lead to a recall on other models of the same year, so you would think they would've been familiar with the issue. My point is that you pay high shop rates for the knowledge of the mechanics, and in this instance I feel ripped off. More
